I'm kinda upset over the lack of any Hunter changes. I mean, so far it's mostly quality of life changes and basic bug fixes (i.e. making all our shots the 40 yard range instead of some at 20).Ever since the Blues flat-out said the way Traps are coded, they couldn't even solve the spell hit issue (is this shared with Moonkin's mushrooms?), I was hoping they'd go back and actually fix some fundamentals. At this point, I really am losing faith in their interest in the class :/Even the idea of allowing us to shoot point-blank hasn't come back :(

Fixing 'fundamentals' is usually one of the more difficult projects to tackle in any project, let alone program design. For example, if the code for the traps was written for the launch of classic WoW, that means that code has had over 6 years of additional coding written on top of it and building from it. Any attempts to alter the original way the traps operate would take time to make sure the alterations wouldn't cause the entire system to bug out irreparably. I wouldn't be surprised if this item was on their to-do list, but I would be surprised if it was anywhere near the top; 'twould be a much more efficient use of man-hours to find ways to balance hunters around that limitation than to gut the system and fix the limitation itself.

Hunters are in that sweet spot where the 3 specs are close together in terms of dps. Be thankful you aren't getting nerfed or anything like that, lol

DPS isn't everything. We're the lowest (2%) in arena representations, so no, I'm not thankful. They're not providing equal service to all classes if one class is still fundamentally broken with bugged mechanics compared to other classes.

Hunters are fantastic in arenas, but only if you know what you're doing. Most people trying at this point are either SVtards (you know them by their Black Arrows) or MMtards (why Aimed Shot no crit? They're not above 80% HP, Durp!).The ones who know what they are doing will succeed, same as always. The big difference for Hunters this season as opposed to every other class is that most people haven't adjusted from Mana to Focus yet. Old habits die hard.
