The nice thing about this change is this situation. Say you've just finished a random PUG, and it went great. Don't laugh, it's happened. Nowadays, most players don't really have an incentive to do another one with the same group. They've got their daily valor, they're outta here. After the patch, sticking with a decent and fun group for a second or third instance will likely be rewarded beyond the joy of working with an awesome team.
Before I had bought everything I needed with valor, I had come to dread the daily chore of logging on and waiting for an instance. I didn't even want to think about the hill I had to climb with my alts. I'll bring out my pally maybe once a week but once I'm done with the daily I don't feel motivated enough to tank another for just rep and the off chance it'll be one of the two dungeons where a low drop chance upgrade waits for me. Now, if I'm feeling tanky I'll be rewarded for keeping on going.
