OMFG - If I read another comment about how hard a life it is as a tank running randoms I swear I'm going to burn my retinas off with my mouse laser. It's an imperfect world. Everybody has issues in game, be it DPS, healers, or tanks. Are you all really so emotionally fragile that your'e going to bail on randoms completely because somebody - gasp! - had the audacity to be rude? Give me a break.

I just got my tank DK up to 85 a few weeks ago. I also have a bear and tanking paladin, both of which I have played since BC. I stopped tanking on my bear because I felt the changes to feral tanking style left me with a lot less control than I previously had, it felt sloppy now. I stopped tanking on my paladin after a combination of always getting my tank gear ninjaed by heals and dps, and getting quickly burned out on running the same three dungeons in the regular queue over and over and over and never feeling like my gear was getting any better.Mind you, all through this initial attempt at Cata tanking, I was growing extremely weary of the pure hostility I would encounter in the RDF. It's impossible to please anyone: You're going too fast / slow! You're using too much / not enough cc. The wipe (caused by dps ignoring a one-shot mechanic or exploding add) is your fault! OMG look at the gear on this fail tank (before the run has even started)! You can see how this constant barrage of (often completely unwarranted) poisonous remarks might get old? The last two runs I tanked were on my new DK in the regular RDF. The first was a Vortex Pinnacle, wherein immediately after zoning in, a dps says, "lmao dual wield DK tank, so f*****g fail..." I respond that I'm in the middle of gearing and these were the best weapons I could get my hands on so far. He laughs and says I suck. We proceed to do the instance. At no point is there a problem, nobody dies, we never come close to wiping or have any trouble whatsoever. In the end, I have outdamaged everyone by a huge margin as well. No apology, certainly no thanks or compliment, just everyone drops group. The last instance I tanked was regular Stonecore. About fifteen seconds after we've all zoned in, the healer starts in with "gogogo" and complaining that he already knows it's going to be a slow, shitty run, because I haven't pulled. I mark a first and second kill and start pulling, trying to go as fast as I think the group can manage to appease the healer. All marked targets are, of course, utterly ignored. The healer decides I'm okay and then begins picking on the dps: Their numbers aren't high enough, they aren't avoiding enough damage, he won't heal them if they don't start doing better, they all suck, they must be retarded if they can't get this boss down faster, and on and on and on. I was vaguely impressed by his ability to simultaneously heal and talk shit, but to be clear, he was a massive douche.I tried to vote-kick him, but had a cooldown. This greatly confused me because I hadn't used it recently on any of my toons. After the second boss was down, I'd had enough. I stopped moving and was going to wait for the healer to inevitably get pissed and drop group, but a DK dps took it upon himself to take up the slack. Now having a tank that was taking great spiking damage, the healer was really ranting about how everything and everyone sucked. The only other way I could think of to piss the healer off enough to leave was to pull too much, which I promptly ran and did. Suddenly everyone was dead in a mass of fire and shadowbolts and 30+ mobs. The healer silently dropped group. One of the dps angrily asked who had pulled everything and I said it was me and I was sincerely sorry, however it was the only way I could think of to get rid of the douchey healer. They said it was cool, just please don't do it again. I agreed and we finished the instance without trouble or incident.I've not been back in the RDF system since that run and don't plan on using it again any time soon, regardless of what goodies Blizz tries to bribe me with. I'm not a diva tank, just a person who is extremely sad to see my favorite game devolve into a cesspool of angry, thieving nerdragers.
