I point-blank refused to pug more than 1 person for the better part of the first 3 months of Cataclysm. For the last month or so, however, I've been a little more willing to pug a few people (but I have yet to try Qing alone). My experiences have been hit or miss.I've pugged on my healer and had about 50/50 with bad tanks/good tanks, including one infamous Grim Batol run with three DPS guildies where we went through 5 tanks because the first tank ragequit when I started marking things for CC (He was in blues. I was NOT healing that without at least two CCs), and every following tank "sry gtg" after each boss. 3 of the 5 tanks were decent (except for the suddenly "sry gtg" parts), while the last tank was a disaster and I still can't believe we managed to down Erudax after only 2 wipes. When I Q on my tank, I have yet to have a "bad" healer. Most have been competent (although a few silently dropped after a CC mishap led to a wipe on trash). Others were phenomenal. With the puggy DPS, I rarely have issues getting them to CC. Most pug DPS I see have the most problem with understanding the need to -refresh- their CC, preferably -before- it expires. I've only see 1-2 really awful DPS (attacking CC targets, not controlling their aggro, facepulling, or flat out refusing to CC).TL;DR: Random pugs were a nightmare 3 months ago. Now, they are getting better. I encourage you to at least try it out and test the new waters.
