I don't think heroics are any harder now than they were "back in the day." I've been tanking since early BC days and today's heroics seem "par for the course" *for where we are in the gear cycle.*Maybe this is something Allison intended for part 2, but I think a major factor in lack of tanks is the age of the game. Tanking entails more responsibility and more knowledge of the instances. Tanking is something for the experienced player. (Would you want the person who is just running the instance for the first time to be the tank, or a dps?) However, after 6 years many of the experienced players have moved on, burned out, quit, etc. To put it another way, we're not producing new players who tanked Molten Core as a 40 man raid. We're stuck with however many there were when BC shipped.
