WoW Moviewatch: How to Win At Achievements
Achievements are an odd feature in game. They really really matter to some people, or they don't matter at all. They certainly can be incredibly frustrating, especially if you're trying to get a cheevo done with a PUG.
There are two important character development notes from How to Win At Achievements. First, note that Billy has quickly and adeptly understood the point of the video. Bill's getting smarter. Soon, like Skynet, he will gain self-awareness and take over the world. Second, we have the addition of a new character: the Grats Cow. We'll have to see how these things develop in the future.

Given that I am the "grats cow" this video makes it feel like wowcrendor is actually in my guild and just hasn't told us... passive aggressive if you ask me wowcrendor...

The great thing about wowcrendor is that the tropes and archetypes he includes in his videos are ones that you can find in any guild, pug, BG or any other facet of WoW. He's parodying the obvious- it's what makes a great joke. Anyone who plays WoW gets the joke.
Grats!

This reminds me of the time my PUG tank was bragging about getting [Can I Keep Him?] at lvl One. Where was gratzcow then?

"Cheevo?" Ugh. Let us not adopt this horrid word, please. Puts my teeth on edge just looking at it.
Kurash Apr 12th 2011 12:49PM
"Cheevos" sounds like it's the name of some unhealthy, synthetic snack food made by Frito-Lay!

Remember kids: just say no to horrible shorthand.

I know they say that language is a constantly evolving system, but why do people always try to make it evolve in ways that make them sound like idiots?
StClair Apr 12th 2011 7:31PM
Because you're old.

I miss the 'gogogogogo' guy :'-(
Dreyja Apr 12th 2011 1:31PM
Go go go go go - guy IS Gratzcow! ;D

Speaking of AI gaining self-awareness, be wary of the CleverBot!
Also, there are addons that will do the gratz-ing for you, such as SpeakinSpell, sometimes in a sarcastic way.
I like calling them "cheeves" as they often involve cheesing.

Acheesements!
tatsumasa Apr 12th 2011 1:56PM
because achievements are given for doing nearly anything and everything in game, so much that congratulating someone has been shortened to a single-syllable abbreviation that holds no meaning whatsoever, i installed one of these addons. mine says congratulations guild member on your recent achievement. at least i'm honest about my not caring if you dinged level ten on your eighth alt.

A game about nothing but achievements. Becomes fun because you have to find what to do for an achievement.
The whole "Achievement for logging in. Achievement for walking. Achievement for seeing this Achivement. Achievement for getting an Achievement" fits right in.
PictoKong Apr 12th 2011 1:14PM
the guy who made this game is a genuis... go to armor games, he develops them there.
there is also achievemnt unlocked 2...
