Man, I was baffled and enraged for a sec there until I switched to viewing a more stable fight - Chimaeron. Shadow priest's DPS still seems a bit high for a hybrid class, though.

Quiet! They might hear you! =p
Shadow priests have always been the red headed step children of the dps casters -- leave 'em alone. /sniffles.

It's an underplayed class (albeit probably because of what else they can be "when the raid needs it,") and I'd love to see more of them - but they're way too far ahead of other casters. Hunters are a bit too far ahead of everyone else as well. They both need to be doing about 2k DPS less.

It also just goes to show you how bad Arcane and Subtlety really are compared to their counterparts.

Errr, "Frost and Subtlety". I'm getting my Mage icons mixed up again.

Subtlety is more of a leveling spec. And a very, very good one. I don't have a mage but I am getting a little tired of seeing 3 identical mages show up for our raids - A class that popular really needs more viable options!

Shadow priests under played? You have to be kidding, I see more spriests these days then I do Mages. The early OPness in PVP made a lot of people switch at the beginning of Cata.
Spriests were about balanced at the end of Wrath but now they are way over the top (same as demo locks). And I say that as someone who played Shadow for half of BC and all through Wrath.

It's probably different between our realms.

The Hybrid Tax no longer exists.
No, I don't have any sources or proof, but that seems to be a bygone concept of the Wrath era.
