Warlocks getting male and female versions of all demons

I'm happy to share we actually do have plans for offering players a choice between male and female versions of all warlock demons. This is a task already in our system, though I don't have a time frame for you at the moment. Other art tasks could always take precedence, but we're committed to making this happen. :)
It looks like warlock pets will be getting all new art as well as choices, potentially through glyphs, as to whether their demons are male or female. After reading this post, I quickly began to think about what each pairing of pets could be. Voidwalker and the voidmistress? Imp and girl imp? Succubus and incubus? Mrs. Infernal! I am eagerly awaiting all of this new art.
We have no time frame for these new pet models, but I would not hold your breath for patch 4.1.

I'm kinda curious about the felhound, does she, or maybe even he get accessory? Also the felgaurd. I wonder what that will end up being.

1. Slap a bar on it
2. Give a succubus a gaint axe

I'm afraid that Incubi models might be a bit traumatizing...
Red skinned humanoid males in g-strings?
Dreyja Apr 14th 2011 8:13PM
SOME female warlocks might argue that point. ;-p
ToyChristopher Apr 14th 2011 9:09PM
I can't wait!
blancester Apr 14th 2011 9:23PM
maybe this is a step to keep guys from playing females toons. +1 for blizz!
If you have a chose on your demons gender... then how many male gnomes will have their incubi out?
PonTelon Apr 14th 2011 9:26PM
You may say traumatizing, but that'd get me to play my warlock again!

Fanboy tears so delicious~

if it's good for he goose it's good for the g-string clad gander.
Now the next time you roll you eyes at women complaining about scantily clad creatures in video games you will be able to feast your eyes on our diabolical go-go boys.

Sounds wonderful to me!
Do you have any idea of just how hypocritical your comment is?
Chivvy Apr 15th 2011 6:31AM
If I was a 'lock, I'd just stick with the Succubus, out of fear that the male model might whip his ass and gasp all the time...
arawn.chernobog Apr 15th 2011 6:50AM
Lads and Lasses, I was merely making the post for comedy's sake and for the mental picture of said humanoid male in a g-string...
I actually think it's a great idea to let us pick the gender of demons, I'd love to see more customization options in WoW, such as:
- Ability to change the hue on spells (Blue Fire for Mages? Fel Fire for Warlocks?);
- Ability to pick more "feminine" Druid forms;
- Changing the colour of one's armour to fit a general hue and thus avoid "clone" or "Clown suit" syndrome.
I know I'd love to RP a female Warlock treating her Incubi servant like garbage and laughing about it.
Also @Blancester:
It's a ROLE-PLAYING game, you ARE NOT your character, therefore you may choose to write the story or play as whatever you wish, it's not harming anyone ;)

Incubus = Duke Nukem.
Make it happen, Blizzard.
shadowhowl1900 Apr 14th 2011 8:07PM
imp is female and pimp is male?
Noyou Apr 14th 2011 8:08PM
I have a level 85 lock and this to me seems silly. What's next female versions of all druid forms? Just exactly does a female imp/voidwalker/felguard look like? I like a lot of the changes they make and usually don't have anything negative to say about improvements but this just seems like a waste of time/resources. How about using the time and updating oh say old character models? Or bring Exodar/SMC up to speed? I know those would take a lot more time and effort but would you put paint on a house that is in need of repair?
Dreyja Apr 14th 2011 8:27PM
You say that but for a lot of the ladies I know that play warlocks... the blatant sexuality of the succubus is kind of the point. A lot of guys may like to think that we are turned on by that sort of thing but... most straight ladies like to see male sexuality, frankly.
I realize I'm speaking for others so, take it as you will. :) I WOULD like a druid form that isn't blatantly male. I like wildlife and I know a thing or two about animals and the mane on my female druid is sucktastic.
Will all respect Noyou ;)
Witawit Apr 14th 2011 8:52PM
When the painter can't do the repairs needed, why not?
Noyou Apr 14th 2011 9:54PM
Point well taken Dreyja. But druids already have the most artwork done to them. Lets count.
Boomkin, Feral cat, Bear, Tree, Manatee, ground travel and oh yeah 2 flight forms. Giving female druids a female cat form makes the most sense but then where does it stop? I am totally not against giving female players something to look at or gender equality but not at the sacrifice of ignoring other cosmetic aspect of the game. How about having some more decent options for female trolls? How about male gnomes? How about getting rid of that hairlip for human males? We could easily go down the list and I'm sure everyone who plays a certain race would like to have things done with them. I just think this is very poor prioritizing on their part. Downrank me all you need.
Dreyja Apr 14th 2011 10:04PM
Ahh. I hear ya there Noyou. If you look at it from that direction, I totally understand.
Kylenne Apr 14th 2011 10:18PM
@Dreyja: Speaking as a non-straight lady, I would like to point out that not all of us are into that either. Contrary to popular misconception (and thousands of late night Cinemax flicks), ladies who dig ladies are not attracted to women in exactly the same way dudes who dig ladies are.
IMO, as hypersexual cheesecakey WoW models go, shivarra are WAY hotter than succubi, thank you.
