I too feel very honoured & lucky to have been a part of such an amazing event in WoW's history. This article (and video) certainly is nostalgic and brings back great memories. I remember the weeks leading up to the opening, farming mats & contributing what you could to the war effort. I remember riding out from Cenarion Hold to the gates, and seeing the literal thousands of players (both Horde & Alliance) waiting near the gong steps. Blackrock was lucky to have had (from memory) 4 Scarab Lords. I remember the chaos that was unleashed onto the realm as soon as the gong was rung. Apart from the server-wide crashes, glitches, and bugs, this event was truly unique, at a time where 40 man raids and server-wide joint participation made the game feel very EPIC indeed. For those that were there, you know the feeling - for those that weren't, you really did miss out!
