I'd say Blizzy should be very pragmatical: tanks get some of the hardest time whenever they do 5-mans, hence i'd remove the VP limit to tanks doing the CTA and you'll see a huge amount of us non raiding tanks doing normals/heroics with their mains and lots of dps/healers levelling an alt to get these rewards.

remove the VP cap and, in my view, lots of 'casual' tanks will pop-up reducing significantly the queue times for dps.

Wow, that is such a bad idea I don't even know where to begin. What your suggesting would even go so far as to adversely affect raiding and how raiders gear up when new raids come out.

You can't "remove the tank VP cap" without removing the same cap from characters that are NOT tanks - because with dual-spec, all tanks are also non-tanks.

Even so, the biggest limit on my LFD availability is the time it takes to run the instance. Some instances (vortex pinnacle, say) seem a whole lot shorter than others (deadmines, stonecore, shadowfang keep). But even the shortest is 90 minutes, and can stretch to 3 times that, if the group is is undergeared or needs more work meshing. ... or just is lacking in one or another area. (All undead mobs? Good luck on your shaman CCing them...)

If I complete one heroic a night, that's a good night for me.

i never did say removing VP limit for tanks. I said remove VP limit for anyone answering the CTA. Otherwise, it'll simply be a simply useless and redundant LFD replacement. I mean, the absence of tanks from the LFD queue is the main reason why people (mainly DPS) have huge queues for 5-mans, right? Do we want these queue times to shorten, right? the issue is for PVE people looking to complete 5-man heroics, right? I'd say that if these are the issues, you should make it MUCH MORE compelling for tanks to use the CTA.
I still have not seen any other better alternative than awarding anyone answering the CTA with 70 VP (on top of the VP awarded for the daily/weekly AND beyond the limit).
This way, tanks will be geared faster and queues will drop etc etc.
