I really don't have much use for the glyph to replace the Ankh. My 3 minors let me:1) Waterwalk without a reagent2) Waterbreathe without a reagent3) Hearth every 7.5 minutes.I just use Steal Your Carbon to automatically keep my ankhs at 10 when I stop by a vendor. I find I use the above far more often than I need to do a self rez.

Faster hearth is really useful while leveling imo and if you got an addon to keep a stock of anhks at hand then go for it. At end game its more useful to be done with reagents all together though... at least in my case.

Obvious it's up to each shaman, but personally I glyph for Reincarnation instead of Water Breathing. Personally, I get very little use out of Water Breathing; if I need to be under a long time, the game frequently provides a Water Breathing buff, or I can slap on my Kalu'ak fishing pole, or just use change one of my other minors to Water Breathing for a short time.I realize short cooldowns on Astral Recall is a bit devalued, now that we can have 15-minute hearths and all, but man, it's a god damn life-saver if you're gonna do Archaelogy. Only thing better would be to be a Mage.

Good article. With two gathering professions you should be able to get what glyphs you need even at low level though. For minor glyphs, I always get the ones to remove reagents. I use them a lot; I have water walking macroed to my mount and water breathing to my ghost wolf (as a castsequence when swimming.)As for astral recall, if you keep your hearthstone instead you have two separate cooldowns going which means you will almost always have one of them available. A hearthstone is also cheap to throw away if you suddenly need bag space for a quest item.

So you have a glyph to make the shaman version of a spell as good as the warlock spell is baseline. (They get swim speed out of their minor)A glyph to make the shaman version of a Death Knight spell still much worse. And arguably the best minor for utility there is.I really don't get why Shaman are saddled with these crappy versions of spells that require reagents which you can't even buy. Go look at a reagent vendor, they have like 4 things on them now. Paladins don't need any, druids lost a bunch and except for mages moving around it is pretty much a non-issue for almost every class.I really think they should just delete minor glyphs that aren't cosmetic or add something to the spell that isn't more than just "it's marginally less expensive."

I agree they should delete the regents in general for waterwalk and waterbreathing. I think the reason I liked the glyphs when the whole system first came out was I was sick of storing those fish oils and fish scales.I really don't get Blizz and their refusal to change things which put us at a disadvantage compared to other classes.

Atleast you guys get useful minor glyphs. All of the paladin minors are boring. Reduced mana cost on a spell you use once an hour.... ooooo so exciting : /
