I love patch trailers, and this one is no exception. Get ready for Patch 4.1: Rise of the Zandalari, with this video showing what the Zandalari are up to, the recruiting of the troll tribes, and the lament of the troll cities of Zul'Farrak and Zul'Drak falling. Check it out, get hyped, and get ready for the fight against the Prophet Zul and the Zandalari. WoW Patch 4.1 is on the PTR, and WoW Insider has all the latest news for you -- from previews of the revamped Zul'Aman and Zul'Gurub to new valor point mechanics and new archaeology items.
This is easily one of the coolest patch trailers I've seen. The boss fights look amazing, the voice-acting was surperb, and the threat really seems real this time. I can't wait to hear that nasal wail again as I kick some zandalari butt!
Cool indeed, but I'm a little bit saddened. They WERE the greatest empire (empires) in the world, and now they're trying to reunite. But then Voljin walks away and he sent the players to go into ZG and ZA and stop them.
Guess what? The players are going to win. So in the canon, this "rise of the Zandalari" will be stopped by 5 adventurers. So sad indeed, seeing that their attempt to rebuild their empire once again falls.
Can someone cover it in the next Know Your Lore or so, why do we have to kill them, other than "before they kill us" type of thing? And if they're trying to rise as a mightly empire again, why does it automatically mean war on the Horde (or Alliance for that matter)?
You see, this is us killing the Gurubashi and the Amani. We haven't fought the Zandalari yet, and we will probably have to. looking forward to a troll raid in patch 4.4(or 4.2 if they release 2 raids) assuming they continue the pattern of every other patch is a raid, and every odd one is a dungeon patch.
He wasn't speaking Common. English and Common are two different things.
He was speaking Zandali, but since nobody here speaks Zandali, Blizzard was kind enough to dub the video in English for us. But in the process they had to cut out a lot of the more potentially offensive and inappropriate imagery and dialogue.
What a thug. Even after Garrosh and all the crap going down right now, he knows what's up. Now that Cairne has passed and Thrall is off saving the world he's definitely my favorite faction leader right now.
This now makes me all the more curious as to why he sends envoys to the Alliance. (And how they aren't slain on the spot, with the way faction relations are now)
Vol'jin sends an envoy to the Alliance because he recognizes that all (non-Darkspear) trolls are going against the rest of the world, so the Alliance should be concerned. The envoy is not killed because the envoy comes to Stormwind peacefully and in the open. SW guards know a diplomat when they see one.
Also, wouldn't it suck if only the Horde got the new quests? ;)
Vol'Jin realizes he's too much of a badass to allow some gorilla to run his faction, so he asks for the help of both Alliance and Horde to overthrow Garrosh Hellscream via fishing pole and a banana. He also plans to utilize a new spell [Portal: Un'Goro Crater] so he feels right at home.
*SPOILER* He then appoints Abasik Kampfire as the Warchief of Horde.
Vol'Jin's also smart enough to know you never fight a war on two fronts. So while the Horde port to Silvermoon to form up against Z'A, the Alliance just march from Stormwind down across Duskwood to Z'G.
I disagree, I've tried to walk into peacefully and in the opened, heck I've even gone so far as disarming myself and wearing lvl 1 clothes to demonstrate that I'm no threat. I've even activated my "the Diplomat" title, and nothing ever changes, they still try to WTFpwn me.
Mackenzie, just leave. You don't like it, so leave. Crying like a big baby isn't going to make it better for you, and only makes you look like a fool. You can go now.

-In the canon, Vol'jin kills them. Not 5 random people. Varian killed Onyxia, for example, not us.
-They blatantly declare war on us in the end of the video.

I kind of hope we fail to stop them.

I remember them saying that this is just the beginning of the storyline. I imagine there's gonna be a raid or two before this storyline is over.

Very cool!

That 'Prophet' is obviously an imposer; his perfect Common without any accent betrayed him long before he projected Hakkar's image.

@Busuan: So true!
Considering how easy it is for Warcraft characters to take on disguises, it would easily be a non-troll.

FUCK YEAH VOL'JIN

Patch 4.3: Fall of the Horde
Vol'Jin realizes he's too much of a badass to allow some gorilla to run his faction, so he asks for the help of both Alliance and Horde to overthrow Garrosh Hellscream via fishing pole and a banana. He also plans to utilize a new spell [Portal: Un'Goro Crater] so he feels right at home.

Make it happen, Blizz.

I think this will be cool and all, but I like the trolls, what if we actually force them to extinction?

...Who? What? Am I being trolled here? I don't even know a Mackenzie.
