You know that Cho'gall was a former major player in the lore, being Gul'dan's apprentice (who was himself Ner'zhul of Lich King fame's apprentice), right? Cho'gall's not some random NPC, and he's blessed by the Old God C'thun. (Granted, the last part only was revealed in the comics, but still, in Warcraft 2 he was a hero unit.
