More whining about School Of Hard Knocks. Is it one of the more difficult holiday achievements? Sure. But so completely terrible? I don't think so. I enjoyed the challenge when I was getting it, and it wasn't that incredibly difficult: it took at most two or three tries in each battleground for each part of the achievement. And it makes things more interesting: like was said in the article, you'll often get an attitude of fellowship from everyone since everyone's trying to do the same thing, and it makes things a lot more chaotic. One week of battlegrounds being a little less organized and a bit more crazy. That's not horrendous, especially with having rated battlegrounds, which shouldn't see those issues. Just expect the craziness and go with it. Use the time to work on some of the more random battleground achievements that you might have to go out of your way to get during a normal battleground. Wrack up a bunch of kills if your team is so disorganized you know you'll lose. Just stop acting so scandalized.

HOW DARE SHE CONTINUE TO HAVE AND EXPRESS HER OPINION? SHOULDN'T SHE AGREE WITH YOU BY NOW?

HOW DARE I CONTINUE TO HAVE AND EXPRESS MY DISSENTING OPINION TO A WOW INSIDER COLUMN/THE GENERAL WOW POPULATION. I SHOULD JUST SHUT UP. THINKING DIFFERENTLY IS TERRIBLE; I SHOULD JUST /WRIST FOR MY THOUGHTCRIMES.

That's the spirit, now you're getting it. >.>
No, but you could perhaps try to understand the fundamental difference between the way she expressed her opinion and the way you did. She talked about a piece of programming and discussed what she thought were flaws with it.You came in and in an insulting fashion called her a "whiner." If you can't list your "dissenting opinion" without including your little jabs at her, then perhaps you *should* just shut up.

I don't read WoW Insider Guides to hear about how the author hates some achievement. This is a *guide*, not a column or editorial. I think talking about how much she hates the achievement is whining in this context. Her comments about the community's view of the achievement were fine, but how else would you describe her first sentence of "I've been pretty vocal about my hatred for this achievement"? That's not discussing a flaw in a piece of programming: that's whining. It's her piece, she can say what she wants in it, but if I think something is whining, then I'll say it's whining. And this is semantics, but saying something is whining isn't the same as calling someone a whiner. The latter implies a pattern of behavior and reflects my opinion of the person as a whole; I was referring to one specific instance.

@jerrySo let me get this straight. A) you already completed this event. B) you are complaining that people are whining about how hard it is. C) you are expressing negative opinions instead of tips on trying to help people have an easier time. You are either a douche or a troll. you pick.

@Noyou... can I pick troll douche?

This is the last I'll say on the matter, because I know I won't change anyone's mind (and I knew I'd get flamed as soon as I posted what I did, because this achievement has always been volatile). After cutaia's initial sarcasm-laden reply, I could sort of see where he was coming from: starting my comment by saying what was said was whining rather than simply laying out my reasoning I didn't think it was so bad might not have been the best of ideas, because it colored everything else I had to say in other commenters' minds. If someone wants to say that and call me on it, fine. But aside from the part where I said it was whining, the rest of my post was a calm and measured elucidation of my opinion. That's not being a troll or a douche. However, the responses of most people to my comment have been way more douche bag-ish than anything I said. Maybe you should not do the exact thing you are accusing me of doing in your response to me.

"...it wasn't that incredibly difficult: it took at most two or three tries in each battleground for each part of the achievement. ...you'll often get an attitude of fellowship from everyone since everyone's trying to do the same thing..."At most two or three tries in each battleground? Attitude of fellowship? I'd like to know what bgs YOU were in! Sure you didn't stumble into a premade made specifically FOR the achievement? The only fellowship I've seen in non-premades was from the 'enemy' team. On that note: there is a reason that I keep Hallow's End costume wands and the Noblegarden bunny branches in my inventory on every toon I plan to try SoHK on. It's so I can CC the same-team griefer who's trying to annihilate the 'enemy' player who came across the battleground to help us with the achievements. (You can't attack as a bunny or wisp.) I also take it you've never run into the people who make it their mission to ensure that no one in 'their' bg gets any part of the achievement done. I've seen paladins bubble flag-runners. I've seen hunters switch on Aspect of the Pack so that a flag-runner would be constantly dazed while trying to run. You can completely forget about anyone wanting to heal you.
