While the guild leader was way out of line, it's hard to have sympathy for someone who so blatantly ignored all the warning signs of a shipwreck just because the ship was laden with treasure - relatively valueless, easily replaced treasure, at that.

The gold, loot, and achievements can all be earned again, and if you actually enjoy the game, it will be fun to earn them all over again. The perks only represent a minor convenience and will come again with time.

Play with people you enjoy being around and who have similar goals and the rest will follow. It sounds like the race to guild level 25 was just a source of stress anyway.
