Patch 4.1 hotfixes for April 29

Notable changes:
- Akil'zon, the eagle boss in ZA, will be summoning Amani Kidnappers less frequently, but they have more health.
- Nitro Boosts won't kill you any more.
- Satchel of Exotic Mysteries will have a greater chance of dropping a companion pet for players.
Classes
- Some interrupts were still incorrectly missing targets. Wind Shear, Spell Lock, Counterspell, Mind Freeze, and hunter pet abilities Nether Shock and Serenity Dust should no longer miss.
- Characters who mount up with a pet bar active should no longer lose control of the pet if they dismount while under the effects of any crowd control.
-
Priests
- Divine Aegis will no longer produce a shield if the full heal that should cause it is absorbed by a death knight's Necrotic Strike.
- The Satchel of Exotic Mysteries given to the member(s) of a class role eligible for Dungeon Finder: Call to Arms rewards now has an increased chance of containing a non-combat pet.
-
The Bastion of Twilight
- The timing between Corrupted Adherent Summons and Cho'gall Fury is consistent with its behavior prior to 4.1.
-
Blackwing Descent
- Maloriak no longer interrupts his own casts of Arcane Storm by moving mid-cast.
- Nefarian will no longer stutter step toward his main target.
-
Zul'Aman
- All non-elite creatures which respawn quickly no longer award loot, reputation, or experience.
- Akil'zon will summon Amani Kidnappers less frequently, but their health has been increased.
-
Zul'Gurub
- All non-elite creatures which respawn quickly no longer award loot, reputation, or experience.
- Gurubashi Villagers and Gurubashi Refugees no longer drop epic loot.
- Ohgan will no longer fail to target and kill Chained Spirits if he is stunned at certain times.
- Guilds close to level 25 should correctly receive the realm-first achievement (when applicable), regardless of whether or not contributing members recently transferred to the realm.
- Players are no longer able to purchase any of the city reputation satchels without having the required reputation.
-
Engineering
- Nitro Boosts now do 80% of the engineer's health in damage over 8 seconds when they fail due to a Rocket Fuel Leak, down from 120%.
- NPCs should be a little less talkative when interacted with. They were saying their lines on virtually every interaction (buying, selling, etc.).
-
Mount Hyjal
- Arch Druid Hamuul Runetotem is no longer incorrectly visible at the Shrine of Malorne after players complete the quest Firefight while on the quest Aessina's Miracle.
- Players should again be able to successfully complete the quest The Firelord.
-
Rise of the Zandalari
- The quest Bwemba's Spirit should no longer complete prematurely for select players when others nearby start the quest event with their spirit version of Bwemba.

The latest update to the patch notes (http://us.battle.net/wow/en/blog/2657803) also has this tit-bit:
"Portals to each of the capital cities have returned to Dalaran and Shattrath City."
Drakkenfyre Apr 29th 2011 10:33PM
Holy shit.
They said they weren't returning. Then putting the portals back to SW/Orgrimmar I saw as a concession that porting back from Shattrath City/Dalaran was now a pain in the ass.
Then a CM posted, prior to the patch coming out that "The portals will back back, but in a different form (or place)", or something like that. I had assumed he meant they might add them back in time, to different places.
I didn't expect them to put them back in the original places.

Just logged in to the game to check. I found portals to Stormwind and Orgrimmar in Shattrath and Dalaran, but not other cities.
Either this is what they meant by that note or maybe realm restarts are required for the other portals to show up.

There's a blue post that says something along the lines of "We saw examples of a lot of people returning to the game mid-Northrend/Outland, getting confused about the changes and not returning" or something like that.
Drakkenfyre Apr 30th 2011 1:07AM
Let me clarify my post.
I KNEW they put the SW/Orgrimmar portals back. I didn't know they had, or had supposedly put the rest of the portals in.
One of the CM's said they would be back in a different form. I guess the patch notes just weren't updated correctly. There have been several patch notes which have been flat-out wrong before ("Happiness/Loyalty being removed", Loyalty was removed long ago.)
Hopefully they aren't wrong, and they really have gone back on it.

I'm sorry but I had to laugh at 'tit-bit'. For the future it's "tidbit" lol.
Ashwan Apr 30th 2011 11:08AM
@Hiwa: It's an accepted alternative spelling: http://www.google.com/search?q=titbit

@Hiwa: Also, everyone that reads WoW Insider isn't American. ;)

I was just in Dalaran this morning. Only the Ogrimmar portal exists
(and if you're wondering what the hell I am doing talking about a Horde toon, I recently petitioned a GM to restore a level 80 druid I had faction changed to Horde out of sheer boredom and then deleted out of sheer boredom. Now I'm going to faction change him back to Alliance)
Whitecatsjogging Apr 30th 2011 4:18PM
So when are they going to add a patch note saying, BOA items are not TRUELY acct bound and are able to be mailed to any toon on your acct, even across servers.....
That would make sooo many ppl happy, they screwed up over on that one. Pets you buy are BOA and they go to ANY NEW toon on ANY server!

- "â—¦ Nefarian will no longer stutter step toward his main target"
I thought something was odd. Our MT was complaining last night 'cause Nef kept crawling on top of him rather than just getting in melee range.
Jabadabadana Apr 30th 2011 4:00PM
I am sooo happy about this.
He kept stuttering up, and becoming in range of Ony, and chewing both of us tanks up.
Was extremely aggravating.
And he didn't really stutter, his feat didn't pick up. He just kinda moved his targeting circle forward until he was standing on top of you.

I know it can't be hotfixed, but I hope in the patch they are going to get out soon they fix the bag opening thing.
Having ALL of your bags open when you go to a mailbox, or a vendor is annoying. If that crap was intentional, they need to have an option for it.
SamLowry Apr 29th 2011 11:30PM
I needed to use an addon to get that effect since it's annoying when only one bag opens. Unfortunately, I can't use any addons with all my settings at minimal, so seeing them all open is a nice surprise.
Noyou Apr 29th 2011 11:57PM
I thought they made B open all by default. I know after the shattering I had to keybind it back to how it used to be where B opens your backpack and Shift+B opens them all. I like having B open just the backpack because when doing some quests I keep the item there if it is not listed on my quest tracker. Just makes for easy access to them or other things like waterwalking elixirs :)
WoWie Zowie Apr 30th 2011 3:42PM
i liked the shortcut they did of opening all the bags when i open a mailbox. saves me the trouble of having to click on my bags every time.
but yes, they should make it an option in case someone doesn't like it. or even make it so that no bags pop up at all instead of just your first bag.
PJ Apr 29th 2011 10:31PM
Its not true though, there is just one portal to one city (Stormwind for alliance)
dmberreth Apr 30th 2011 12:02AM
Each "Capital City" for each faction. IE: Stormwind and Org.
Carune Apr 29th 2011 10:43PM
I wonder when they will be fixing the targeting circle. It sometimes works, sometimes gets really small, sometimes gets really huge, and most of the time doesn't work at all.

I'd love to actually cast Healing Rain when I cast Healing Rain.
