I think its pretty obvious at this point based on comments that Metzen has made that Thrall will be the new aspect of earth (dragon or not). What's more interesting though is what this does to the ingame political scene. It was Thrall and Jaina's influence that was keeping the Alliance and Horde from breaking out into allout war and to remove 1 half of that influence will have "tidal waves" of political repercussions.I think what we see happening here is little tweaks to the story being made to pave the way for a Warcraft 4. Look at Sylvanas and what she's done with the forsaken in the last two expansions. They're shaping up to be an antagonistic 3rd faction. Now we just need some furthering of the political intrigue on the alliance side and we're set.

Just my 2 cents again to Fireye's post on just 1 point...I think at this time it would be pretty stupid of Blizzard to dilute the WoW cashcow for Warcraft 4. I think that the Warcraft RTS is pretty much dead for now and any story development will come through WoW. I mean they managed to make a WoW 2 (or at least WoW 1.5) with Cataclysm, replacing the WoW original, and it more or less worked. Once again, it's only my opinion, and no disrespect was intended.
