The Daily Quest: Impressions set in stone

WoW Insider's on a Daily Quest to bring you interesting, informative, and entertaining WoW-related links from around the blogosphere.
I finally got around to making a jaunt into Old Ironforge the other day -- I'd been down there before, once upon a time in vanilla, but it was so many years ago that I had the vaguest of impressions of what might have been there. As of patch 4.1, there for all to see is a scene straight out of The Shattering, the novel by Christie Golden that explains exactly why Magni is standing there frozen in place. Now I'm trying to remember if anything in the novels has been so directly copied over to the in-game world -- there's the whole Caverns of Time: Durnholde Keep instance, but that's not really a direct copy. I can't think of anything, off hand.
Anyway, today we've got some various impressions of WoW, from patch 4.1 all the way to King Magni.

Anne, you linked something about Fandral's character development. I'm SO surprised! After hearing you rant about it on ATA, I'm surprised that you haven't linked anything earlier.
I agree with needing more development for him, he's such a neat character that could be explored a lot more.

Derp, nature. Yeah, that sums up almost the entire cast of npcs in WoW. Im mad they're turning Fandral into boss to kill every week. He's like the only important lore character that had an interesting jerk ass attitude to set him apart from the goody two shoes fraction leaders that call me "hero" non-stop" and complain about saving the world.
he reminds me of that dude in Obliviion. You just saved some town in a long quest line, and earned the title "Hero of Cyradil" (forgot the name) and statue of your character. The first quest in the next town says something like, "Hero of Cyradil is it? Well forgive me for not adding to the chorus of praise that follows you around. We got work to do."
If it isnt a fraction leader rambling how we have to be nice and honorable and save the world, its the rest of the npcs in WoW that always kiss my ass and tell me "You save saved our lives. We are eternally grateful."
Frandral, thankyou for having the balls to be a jerk. The only silver lining is that I dont raid, so I wont have the unfortunate opportunity to kill him.
