Breakfast Topic: Are you ready for more raiding content?

The previews show a fairly decent amount of completion and polish on zones, models and even the daily questing area. Also of note, when Lead Content Designer Cory Stockton was asked about the multiple raid dungeons we were supposed to expect in each Cataclysm tier ... well, let's face it: He basically completely side-stepped the topic, indicating that 4.2 wouldn't be delayed for that (which is a whole 'nother topic, but I digress).
The question then is: Are you ready for Firelands? This doesn't necessarily equate to having downed Lady Sinestra, but rather, do you at least feel you've reached a comfortable level of completion in the current content? Personally, my raid group is 8/12, and we will likely down some more bosses in the next month. While I'd love to get our Dark Phoenix mounts before the patch, I think I would still be proud of what we've accomplished as a casual social guild if the new raid dropped tomorrow.
So what about you? Are you chomping at the bit for a new raid or at least ready to attempt some new bosses? Alternatively, do you wish you had even more time to work on tier 11 while it's still relevant?

I'm pretty excited and looking forward to the new content. Our team is 9/12 normal. So the timing might be just about right.
Champing at the bit (or mistakenly as chomping at the bit) refers to a tendency of some horses, when impatient or nervous, and especially if being held back by their riders, to chew on the bit, often salivating excessively.

Not even close. Horde side, my druid hasn't even got I high enough ilvl to be done with normal dungeons just yet. And my Alliance DK just hit 81 last night. I am an altoholic and it's showing. No raiding as of yet. :( But I am excited and hope to be doing something soon.

3 down in bwd, but regardless of what content is newest the raids we are working on ARE relevant to us.
I'll just make sure to use all my vp and stock my jp before it lands.

I might be mistaken, but indoor think the issue with spending JP/VP should matter in 4.2. VP will be converted to JP, and VP gear will become JP gear. Only thing I'd worry about is going over the 4000 pt cap at the conversion.

I think that they mentioned that if you had say 3k jp and 2k vp, after the patch you would have 5k jp, but wouldn't be able to gain any more jp until you were back under 4k.
I'm not 100% sure though.

I AM NOT PREPARED for Firelands ... gotta get my nelf rogue geared! Since she's my favouritest of my nelves, the first one I took through Hyjal, and the backstory I made up for her has her as a former Warden, I'm really looking forward to having her team up with Stormrunner and the Shadow Wardens. Plus rogue tier 12 looks pretty awesome!
As for the raid, eh. I haven't set foot in a Cata raid yet, no plans to any time soon. My guild has Sarth10+3D on farm and that's enough for me.

Nope. I haven't even touched the current content and I've had an 85 since Christmas. TBH life happens and school kept me busy. I barely had time to get on and do a few quests on alts. Maybe after I'm done transferring to another server I'll be ready...

Haven't even started heroic 5 mans yet. :(
I'm in a sort of phase where I'm trying to find a class/spec combo I feel in tune with.

12/12 normal and 3/13 on heroic, i wanna get some more done on heroic before the new raids come out but I dont think I will, progression has slowed down a lot with my guild and i have a feeling its gonna get worse over summer :< considering we only raid 9 hours a week im fairly happy with what I'm doing at the moment

My guild, which raids casually and generally only 1-2 times a week, definitely has some more to go on the current tier. Due to various delays, we're only at 4/12 normal at the moment, partially as we've been working a little on getting to a comfortable farming level with the easier bosses before we headbutt the harder ones too badly. We're getting there, and I suspect we'll have cleared up to the end bosses at least by the time Firelands pops.

I haven't even got one raid boss down yet, so I'm hoping Firelands doesn't come TOO soon, or my new [serious raiding] guild might stop farming BoT and BWD in favour of it. xD

12/12 normal, 2/13 heroic
Big loss of interest and raiders recently. I want Firelands NOW.
Siorra Apr 30th 2011 9:41AM
Pretty much this. Doing encounters again in heroic doesn't feel like sufficient 'content'. Need more!

My guild is 8/12 atm, so we're in a good place for 4.2. By the time it's off PTR we should be 12/12, possibly 2/13 at which point we'll be ready to hit The Firelands. I have some Morrowgrain to stuff down Majordomo Staghelm's throat. :) I'm looking forward to the new dailys (and new gear from the vendors unlocked by them). Pally Tier 12 has me in a dress again, but hopefully the itemization and bonuses won't totally suck for Holy this time around.

My guild is slowly working its way toward raiding, but I don't know if I'll be able to join them. Like some others, my altaholism has really kept me from gearing up my 85s. @_@ But I'm really, really looking forward to the new daily questing areas. It really sounds like Blizzard has found a way to keep daily questing interesting, and the new rewards sound great too - my hunter went all the way through Hyjal, so getting him that fiery hippogryph will be awesome.

Not really. My casual raiding guild is 9/12 normal mode, personally I'm 6/12. I just don't have as much time to raid as I'd like. Our guild only raids 1 or 2 nights a week, we don't raid enough that we're sick of the current content, but I'm ok with new content coming because I know lots of higher level raiders are bored. Just once I'd like to be able to finish current content (normal mode, anyways) before a patch comes out.
Gracandrea Apr 30th 2011 8:40AM
We're still working on getting bosses down so NO. I want to be working on stuff while it's still relevant. (for once)
Szass Apr 30th 2011 9:32AM
I stopped playing for a while.
My guild can't get a raid going.
Even though we raided all through Wrath.
People just are not interested in showing up anymore.
Most of my "old school" buddies no longer log on.
We're all adults around 30-40 and while I can't quite put my finger on just one thing,
for some reason a whole lot of the "old school" crowd is gone. They may pop in a couple times a month to visit, but that is about it.
I don't see anything in 4.1 or 4.2 to reverse this trend among my peers. So I'll take a break for the summer, do some real fishing, and see what things look like in a few months.
Hopefully I'll be working on my light saber skills at that time.
KhazKhal Apr 30th 2011 1:53PM
Ditto, exactly this.
No one I know has been chomping at the bit to see these raids. We'll read the QQ in the forums and then decide later.
Hopefully by then we'll be Sci Fi MMO dark siders and never look back.
We lost a few along the way though, and I miss them. But some of us are still hanging out in Rift because it is something different. Hopefully we'll see a bunch of familiar faces in TOR.
btbrianjturner Apr 30th 2011 3:49PM
Same thing here, most of the people in my guild relocated over to Rift because we weren't getting anywhere in this expansion raiding.
