This, so much this. I'm decent if not great in battlegrounds and I'm not even bothering again.

I got the meta with Hard Knocks, and I agree with you. No reason to put further people through that horror.

Also agreed. The only reason I got that achievement was because I got lucky in Eye of the Storm and someone dropped a flag right near a tower I was defending, and because we managed to keep flag-trading going in Alterac Valley in between rude people from both sides thinking the gathering meant easy kills. *eyeroll*

If Blizzard would just change the achievement to "Get 50 honorable kills with your orphan at your side" or something, like the other holiday PvP achievements, it would make this so much easier for a lot of people.

Granted, I still wonder why we're bringing the orphans into the battlegrounds in the first place, but I know better than to look for logic in a game that sent me a dragon in the mail. ^_^

Is there ANYBODY who likes this achievement?

PvE fans hate it because they have to go into BGs. PvP fans hate it because they have to put up with a bunch of people doing things to get achievements that actually harm the team, who probably suck at PvP besides.

It's a lose/lose.

I do like this achievement, because it makes other BG achievements slightly easier to get for a week.

I like it because it's easy even for a raider like me, but still you people treat it like it's something hard. Feeling smug and superior to others is a great feeling, that's why I come here so often.

I liked the SoHK achievement, the only tricky one was capping an AV tower, and that just required me to perfect the mount-up at the start to make sure I was in the lead. I did all of the achievments with no help, no PvP gear, and no PvP experience outside of battlegrounds. Get over yourselves, it really isn't hard O.o

Once I'd done it, I got to enjoy the shooting gallery that was EotS on my PvP character.

"I did it easy, you guys stink blah blah blah".

Read again, it's the counter-productivity of it. Plus the giant "Kill me" target of having an Orphan out. Got WSG thanks to flag-swapping (probably against the ToS, if not the spirit), AB by bolting from the group and getting to the Farm with .5 seconds to spare (thanks to Crusader Aura) and dropping out, EoS by hanging out next to the BG leader and throwing some heals while I waited for a flag, and finally AV because my super-awesome Boomkin friend (come back Boo, we miss you!) let me tag along with her.

Apart from staying in WSG and using Hand of Freedom to help our last carrier escape a snare and win the BG, I was total dead weight and waste of a spot. I didn't like it, but I had to do it.

Only reason I managed to help a guildie get SoHK was by sabotaging a battleground seemingly populated by assholes. One dude dropped the flag for some reason, and I took the opportunity to ruin his day since he said he was getting his kicks by ruining ours.

As I already have this achievment, I'm going to sit back and enjoy watching my honorable-kill count reach into the upper ten-thousands this week.

It's amazing how testy some people get when they realize there are people in their BG who really don't care whether they win or lose.

And yes, the incredible selfishness required to get Hard Knocks does harm your team. Way to go, Blizz.

I love PVP but absolutely hate this achieve. I agree with others, if they changed this so you had to get some number of HK's at each of the four BG's, you'd get people playing for the win and people exposed to a BG that's a BG and not the farce that they turn into this week. Plus this year on my server Eye of the Storm is the Call to Arms BG doubling the pain, especially since in my book it's the hardest of the four to get normally.

I got my second toon through the achievement in about 2 hours yesterday. I did note a lot more griefers this year. At AV there were 4 hordies sitting at the top of the tower. I yelled truce and went in to cap and two other hordies inside wouldn't let me cap. I died 3 times and I couldn't read what they were saying, but there was a lot of Horde verbiage going on. I had planned to cap, wait, and recap for the other horde folk. Ended up getting it in the next run on AV.

Then in EOS one of our druids kept grabbing the flag and wouldn't cap. He just hung onto it until we let him die. Next opportunity he had he grabbed it again. I think only one person on Alliance actually capped in that BG.

Then in WSG we'd a maxed holy pally grab the flag and two heals from his guild with him. He grabbed the flag and wouldn't cap or drop it. Just did it to be "funny".

This kind of behavior and people doing stuff that is counter to winning in the BG is why Bliz needs to change this achieve.
