Breakfast Topic: Your very own NPC

One of the things on my little bucket list is to get an NPC made after me in World of Warcraft. I am still amazed and full of wonderment when I meet people who have NPCs created in their name and likeness. Our very own Mike Sacco already exists in game, as well as many members from the WoW community at large. I would hope that my NPC would be a powerful one, someone who mattered in game and gave out some very important quests or was part of awesome raid content -- or rather, is ever-present in some great battle, where players past and present get to tell the story of this awesome personality. Or barring being of any importance, I'd want to be on the front lines as a repair guy, someone to whom everyone has to hand over hard-earned money to repair their gear. Take that, community!
If Blizzard made an NPC after you in game, what would it be, what would he or she be named, and where would he or she be located?

totally one of those quest givers that you don't realize are important till later in the chain where he comes back to help you kill someone or something.

I'd be a sweets seller in Dalaran by the name of Candy Cane. Bit like Granny Smith the fruit seller in Shattrath :-)
Urza May 3rd 2011 8:39AM
That's not fair.. you'd need a Rusty Nail somewhere too.

Would he be the engineering trainer? ;-)

@ Mebh....or a drinks vendor?

Sounds like a hooker.

My NPC would be in a library somewhere, either reading or writing something with half a dozen stacks of books on the table around him. ^_^ Any quests he gave would involve gathering things that seem completely unrelated, all in the name of his research.

Ah, it would be so cool to see that happen.
If I won some contest of all contest, (New blizzard contest: Create world peace and get your own character in Azeroth!), and got to choose where and whom that character was, I'd pick some name close to my main char, a night elf hunter, and made him a bastard.
Betraying the alliance, betraying the night elves, betray Tyrande and change sides to join Sylvanas' undead horde.
Preferably with some intel that caused a nice big piece of trouble for the alliance.
I'd love to be some much hated/controversial lore character :)

I'd have an NPC after my hunter, located in Uldum or AQ (outside the gates) selling Archaeology equipment, books, etc. I'm obsessed with those two zones, and have practically every item in game relating to the two.

as it is ive played hunters ever since vanilla came out, i have tamed almost every beast out there, i still remember having to tame other pets and get them to happy so that you could learn their ability so you could teach your other pets what they knew
long story short, i would like to be a Hunter Trainer, or if possble, someone as the same awesome equivalence as Rexxar, the best BEAST MASTER hunter EVER!

I would have a female human mage somewhere in Stormwind. She wouldn't give out quests or sell things or anything like that. She would just stand there. And a couple times a minute she would let out an exasperated sigh of impatience.
shancrabb May 3rd 2011 8:17AM
I would be a dress maker, or clothing seller. Since i have just about every RP outfit/dress in the game. It would be amazing!
Pryn May 3rd 2011 8:19AM
A rogue trainer in Ravenholdt Manor. Maybe with a nice little faction quest thrown in.
Karen Lindsay May 3rd 2011 10:25AM
I'd love that too! I'd ask that my in-game avatar give advice about not walking over campfires while stealthed. I STILL get teased because I did it once over a year ago. :-D
Pryn May 3rd 2011 7:54PM
Me too!! To my shame, my campfire destealthing was while I was running an RP event training other rogues how to travel undetected and stealth around their targets :s To this day its one of the long running jokes about my rogue in game, and it happened in Vanilla :P

When we take the fight to the Burning Legion in Argus or wherever, I'd want my NPC to be a humble soldier who players help in an escort questline and dies honorably in combat. Footman Gradford. He'd tank swarms of demons while players finish them off, and mock the beasts as they fall. He'd speak of his family in Elwynn and how he dreams of returning to them one day--his wife who sends lowby human players on a quest to Stormwind to retrieve food for her baby boy.
An NPC who embodies the honor and determination of humankind, but also the cost of war that falls on our loved ones.
Fletcher May 3rd 2011 8:21AM
I'd be a dungeon questgiver, one of those guys who stands around just inside instances giving quests to do inside. You'd zone into the Undercity and there I'd be, offering you a quest to kill Sylvanas, hack up her corpse, and burn the bits for certainty's sake.

I would want to be a deep cover horde agent inside SW incase there is ever a horde invasion of SW. Since I'm a warlock, I would want to be summoning in soldiers in some back corner of SW.
Wolftech May 3rd 2011 8:34AM
This crazy gnome mage quest giver named Nik standing on a hill in the middle of nowhere with a funny quest chain involving puns and ending in a pet and a crazy title.
razion May 3rd 2011 8:35AM
I would be a troll paladin; and together, with my League of Unlikely Paladins, we would muck about the statue of Tirion at Light's Hope talking about how we shouldn't have bought a statue but filled all the gaps in the walls.
