Also, what exactly is supposed to be happening in the last panel? Are those lines sound, light, or motion?

Well, that may well explain why Enarrai's conversation with the guard devolved into a shouting match so quickly. I was a bit surprised by that, since it is so uncharacteristic of a Night Elf to do so, but if she's doing it on purpose as a distraction...

Nothing like a good argument for a distraction. Sorta feel sorry for the guy cause he is probably gonna be locked up for dereliction of duty if he gets duped and/or be very ticked off along with quite a few others.
Of course the kids are orphans to a (probably) deceased guard and they are now acting as accomplices to a jailbreak coordinated by an alliance member in a frontier town on the edge of horde territory. I hope they can get some fast horses cause I'm betting the posse won't be reserving jail space.
Where is a cool headed third party when you need one?
