And of course, those of us in Arizona get screwed again. I want my pet for the collection dangit!

I write it off as the cost of living in Arizona.
Drakkenfyre May 4th 2011 8:25PM
I thought the cost of living in Arizona was the possibility of finding scorpions in your kitchen?
Ok, not really, but other than the perpetual dry air, and low allergy count, what exactly makes Arizona worth being exluded from stuff like this?
Vector May 5th 2011 12:47AM
Admittedly I didn't read all of the content, but I don't see anything in there that shuts out AZ. What exactly is preventing us Arizonans from partaking?

Solution: Move to California.
No, you don't need to pack everything up, just edit your battle.net address.
Gorkarp May 4th 2011 8:06PM
This costs $20??? Lame.

Seems the "Vanquisher" title will not be so hard to get as I cant imagine more than 3000 people buying this... If I understand this correctly, and I may not, you pay $20 to partake in an arena championship? Because you can do that in game and get ever better titles without having to spend money.

You are forgetting, or ignoring, the prizes.

I'm wondering just how many people are actually going to be getting the Arena Pass... It's fairly common knowledge that PvP isn't the focal point for the end game content of World of Warcraft--it's the raiding. Only a fraction of the player-base would be interested in a large-scale PvP event (let alone a Tournament).
I mean, I'm something of a PvP enthusiast, and I was pacing my room for a long time debating if I even wanted to TRY going in the Tournament. I know I'm not the best PvPer out there--I have no delusions of grandeur, and the idea of throwing myself against people leagues and LEAGUES above my skill level wasn't too compelling. Then I saw the pet and title reward and went, "well, that's a smart move by Blizzard, being able to coax otherwise intimidated people to have a reason to TRY..."
My mind wasn't really made up, however I figured I would rather give it a shot and get some prizes than not and miss out on a couple rewards. I click to advance and then see the $20 required to purchase the pass. I am immediately off-put. I will not be doing this event. And, frankly, I don't see many people who will [who aren't looking for some illegal profit].
Darkfreak May 4th 2011 10:56PM
Common knowledge? Really? How do you back up that claim? As far as I know, there hasn't been a post by blizzard saying "raiding is the focal point of end game content."

I am sorry to say but that's just your generalization. Some people are more interested in the ever-changing challenges of Arena than a pretty static PVE boss. If there was an all time Arena-Tournament sytle of WOW, I am not sure I would even pay for the original.
The best thing about this tournament for me is the possibilty of trying out different setups with my arena mates, without spending months on gearing them. You can create 3 fully equipped characters, in 3v3 thats lots of composition possibilites. In real WoW, if you want to play with your friends, but in a new setup, it takes ages to even try out (and it might not even work). Our team will enlist for sure.
sheyki May 5th 2011 8:34AM
Neyssa you said it yourself. SOME people are more interested. It indeed is common knowledge that the bigger part of wow players prefer PvE. While that doesn't mean PvE is better or anything like this, it means that of the smaller part of PvP players even a smaller part will go to the tournament. It's entirely another question how many more would go if there was no price...
CDave May 4th 2011 9:40PM
This isn't the first year of the tournament, and not the first year it has cost money to enter either.
Robert May 4th 2011 11:58PM
Is it $20 per team or per person?
sheyki May 5th 2011 8:38AM
Per person...More precisely per account.
cygerstorm May 5th 2011 4:33PM
Arizona has anti-gambling laws they consider Blizz's use of Random number Generators gambling, so they cant allow anyone form Arizona into the competition.
As for changing the Battle.net address, its that whole thing called "Fraud" and "getting my Account Banned" that presents a small problem.
Lunartic May 28th 2011 4:28PM
Question: If your from out of town and your visiting Arizona and you access your Arena Pass from Arizona, even though your from out of town. Are you violating the laws in Arizona and in WoW?
