It's philosophical, so it's open to interpretation.

For me, it really depends on how you define "sound" and whether or not tree-crushed gnomes are capable of screaming. Then again, gnomes of the cookie-baking variety make their homes in trees, so this may not be as catastrophic as it seems. Hmm...

I need to put more thought into this.
