"Fast patch" 4.1.0a patch notes

Just when you think you're used to the way things are going, Blizzard releases something new. Today's notes aren't a list of hotfixes; they're a "fast patch." This means when you log into World of Warcraft, you're going to have a mini-patch to download -- and it also means that some major issues are being addressed, including one that's been bugging raiders and anyone trying to use AoE spells since 4.1:
- The targeting reticule for AoE spells and abilities like Magmaw's chains should no longer disappear when players cast spells.
- Animations while mounted should work normally again. Say hello to your ponies, they're now moving correctly!
- Character legs should move properly when the character is moving.
See the rest of the notes for 4.1.0a after the break.

AoE looting would be very convenient in wow, mark on world map are meh at best, no rolls on loot? how is loot distributed then? do each of the x number of people in raid get 1 phat purle? and more importantly how does it play at end game?
in pvp is it balanced? cause if not from all the talent trees there will be only 1 or 2 real specs, on the pve side of things i've heard it's a zerg fest so individual balance doesn't matter, so pve is completely devoid of challenge, but is it fun?
also how are rifts? are they like the elemental invasion? where a portal appeared and you had to take certain number of mobs but with a boss at the end? and when there wasn't too many people and thus very very easy, there were too few and thus not doable, but now killing the quest givers?
how is the lore and feel of the game, is there someone in rift who i should want to kill as much as illidan? arthas? deathwing? is something the burning legion, old gods and probably titans threatening and to kill both factions?
i see no reason why blizz shouldn't find inspiration on other places, games have been doing this all the way to D&D who took a LOT from Tolkien, so blizz learn from rift and give more poly count to models in the next expac and give us AoE looting, i haven't played rift so how is it? is it worth giving it a try? is it worth keeping after the first 2 months? or is it good only until you hit level cap. and you have to take care of balance, timesinks and gearing? also what is it i hear about it not having a soul?

I don't think you understand the definition of "troll", jackass. You were the one coming in here throwing insults. Why don't you go back to RIFT, and eat up the clone that it is? You seem to love it, despite the fact that it copies tons from this game.

"You are not influencing anybody."
He has certainly convinced _me_ to stay away from Rift. I still remember that constant WoW bashing from AoC. Yeah...

You do know this is WoWInsider, don't you? Not a Rift site?

Great patch. I wasn't having any of the issues regarding zone changes prior to today but now everyone in my party DCs when going to Northrend. And the ongoing issues related to battlegrounds continues unaddressed. :(

I hope the fix to disconnecting when changing zones works the way that it sounds like it does. It's incredibly annoying to not be able to alt-tab while auto-flying toward your destination after reaching cruising altitude.

Geordi http://www.wowhead.com/npc=14743 would have to beam over from Tanaris to help out.

I hope the patch is done soon, for how long have the servers been under service?

instead of this bug fixes why not fixing the queues? Bg queues are broken since february, if you have a char that isn't 85 you can be called for a bg instantly after joinning the queue or it can take you from 30 min to 2h even when the average time is 3 min. Since the 4.1 patch i can't even enter bg sometimes even with all addons turned off.
Even the ticket queues seems bugged yesterday i created a ticket 5 min after a friend created his and the time for both was 3 days and 21h. Mine was almost instantly answered few, and his took 1h or more..
i don't know who is the team responsible for bg, dungeon and ticket queues but they don't seem to know what they are doing...

This is a great idea!! They could even go as far as to elaborate on this idea and make it a holiday. Basically, have a "Blizz Week" put in between two holidays where there is a long period of time between them. Not only could you have a dungeon like mentioned above, but quests that are "bugged", npc's around cities acting odd, etc. None of these things would hinder game play, just poke fun at all the glitches and bugs from the past and present.

Note to Blizzard (and WoW Insider, too, just in case):
A reticule is a small handbag, typically with a drawstring. A reticle is a net of fine lines in a sighting device, also commonly called "crosshairs."
The difference, you may note, is significant.

I would be interested in this concept, but let me extend the aggrivation one step further:
All special loot gained would be tied to the instance ("requires Bugfix"). The Nerf Bat, the trinket called "Overpowered Patch", the Sword of 999 Truths ("Beta edition").
It could even have dungeon quests offered by someone who looks a lot like John de Lancie called "QQ".
