Then around the same time, the WoW Insider team got word on the further developments of Michele Morrow's campaign to land the role of Sylvanas Windrunner. This sparked the idea that someone on staff should put together a dream cast for the future Warcraft movie. As the token film school dropout, I jumped on the assignment and promptly put together the most expensive movie cast list ever.

Just a few I wanted to weigh in on.
Malfurion - Enver Gjokaj (formerly of Dollhouse)
Mekkatorque - Peter Dinklage
Greymane - Gary Oldman (Really, Gary Oldman could do this movie as a one-man show.)
Sylvanas - Marisa Tomei (See my earlier notes about why this is a great choice.)

For the actual film, I would much prefer the cast to be a bunch of good unknowns so they don't take anything away from the characters they are portraying. However, saying that, my ideal Warcraft film would have been animated, and not live-action.
I do think the OP did a great job of matching the celebs to characters, however. Pretty spot on in fact.

For the Arthas/the Lich King, there's no one who could ever play him other than Vladimir Kulich. He played Buliwyf in the 13th Warrior.

A few new faces
Sen'jin could be played by Micheal Sheen although I can see him as a Goblin character as well.
Philip Glenister for Glenn Greymane (but he could also make nice Magni)
I can imagine Marc Warren playing Arthas Menethil and Derek Jacobi as King Terenas.
Should he be making an appearance Richard Armitage for the role of Illidan.
Given the comical tendencies of Gnomes I would pick Simon Pegg as Mekkatorque (also because for some reason round heads = gnome heads for me)
And, if he's in it, (old) Khadgar should be played by Hugh Laurie.

The list is cool to think about and all, but I'm hoping for a good formula of no name actors with one or two veterans.
Like star wars was...or lotr or spartacus :)

Even tho I do not agree with Ron Pearlman and Will Ferrel as part of the Bronzebeard brothers, they do look alike. hehe

I whould like to use this instance to round up a couple of things...
If blizzard want this movie to works it should be done the "Avatar" graphics style.
Sam Raimi can go to hell... he will never work in this proyect, give the job to some1 that really wants to work on it like Duncan Jones.
I agree with MattKrotzer a 100% that Marisa Tomei (http://http://www.fondosytemas.com/wp-content/uploads/Marisa-Tomei-3.jpg ) will be an awesome Sylvanas.

No, that's too small of a part. He didn't play much more of a role other than being Medivh's father. I can see Chris Lloyd being the crazy wizard in the Black Morass opening the dark portal.

When you watch the cutscene after killing Arthas in ICC, does anybody else see Patrick Stewart as Bolvar?
