Breakfast Topic: Who is your unsung Cataclysm hero?

One of those characters that Cataclysm fleshed out and turned into a wonderful hero is Eitrigg's son, Ariok. Eitrigg himself is a Blackrock orc who, in the company of his son, has come to the Burning Steppes to fight his former clan and stem their ravenous tide. Ariok accompanies the Horde player character through the zone, eager to show his father his strength. He understands the menace that the Blackrocks of the Burning Steppes present. His fight is sincere and strategic, and his character grows wonderfully over the course of the zone and the story. The final moments of the zone are epic, and Ariok stands proud and strong that he was part of this decidedly important battle to both the Horde and the Alliance.
Who are your unsung heroes of Cataclysm? Do you think John J. Keeshan (Ariok's counterpart in the Burning Steppes for the Alliance) gets his just praise? How about the heroes of both factions in the Twilight Highlands?

For me, it is Tarenar Sunstrike in Eastern Plaguelands.
I have mentioned this NPC multiple times before in various posts regarding new favorite characters and quests. But even if I sound like a broken record, I can never sing his praises enough!
Call me shallow, but I'm a chick who thinks male belfs are really sexy! IRL, I love the look of skinny, metro guys, but I hate their stereotypical attitudes, so I've never actually been able to stomach dating one. Male belves are the same to me; I think they're very physically attractive, but their self-centered attitudes put me off.
So to find a male belf who is so dedicated to his craft... and so dedicated to his best friends that he'll openly sob and blame himself over their potential horrible fates, put himself in huge danger and terror to rescue them, and be so truly grateful to your character for helping him and such a celebratory ray of enthusiastic sunshine when your whole caravan succeeds... his deep characterazation just touches me, and if I ever met a guy like him IRL, you'd better believe he'd be my biggest hero forever! ^_^

I fell in love with Zen'Kiki while doing his quests.
I'm really hoping he shows up in a later dungeon or raid, becoming the best restoration druid the planet has ever seen.
I mean really, did you see how fast he cast those moonfires? Guy's got no cooldowns, mon!
Necromann May 8th 2011 9:13AM
I had him bug my casting wrath in bear and upside down seal form. It was really funny.
Shade May 8th 2011 9:56AM
I hope Fandral has some sort of Fury of Frostmourne-esque enrage and wipes us all, only for Zen'kiki to come flying down in swim form and kill him with a Rejuvenation.

Only one man can save Redridge.
JOHN J. KEESHAN.

Yes.... *sob*

Sorry...who??
Swifteye May 8th 2011 1:23PM
@Jason
I assume you haven't seen the new Troll starting zone. It's worth it to roll a Troll just to meet Zuni... he's only with you for the first five levels or so, so you know it's not gonna "waste" very much of your time at all. And then you'll know who he is, and why these posts regarding him have been uprated so fast.

Has to be the somewhat psycho/crazy characters from otherwise very serious peaceful organizations.
Thisalee Crow was such a refreshing change from all the other dull "Save the trees/deer/bunnies" characters in Hyjal. It was nice to meet a druid who is A) pretty handy with a blade B) willign to get s*** done.
And one of my all most amusing quests in Cata has to be Stormcaller Myla's interrogation of an ogre in deepholme while dangling him very pointedly over a huge fan, then later we get to see her kicking some ass when the temple is attacked (twice).
Rai May 8th 2011 8:56AM
Stormcaller Myla for sure. That tiny angry woman kicks some serious bottom.
Dreyja May 8th 2011 11:18AM
May I echo the praises of the TINY ANGRY WOMAN!
Stormcaller Myla is my kinda dwarf! She's me hero! Though, I have to give some props to my other Mighty Maid - Fanny Thundermar. I wanna take the two of 'em out for a pint, or 20.

The Stormcaller made me consider switching factions to play a dwarf chick. I love her insanely much, it may be her voice acting but gosh. Thisalee and Garona were great too.
I think that, while the questing style was in general too linear for me this expansion, it was the best expansion we've had for minor characters in the world. The amount of spirit and quirk that comes through in so many bit players was really welcome, and the number of new takes on capable women was a breath of fresh air. I'd love to see that take on the female characters reach the top. I guess Sylvanas has already been becoming way more integral to the storyline of the world, I'd like to see Jaina and Tyrande follow suit.
(For her Tallness!)

uh yeah, that dwarf is insanely awesome. I don't like dwarf chicks at all, but this one just made me happy everytime I met her, she is really kewl and all that "I don't give a crap about rules 'cause I'm a Wildhammer and we kick ass" was really nice, so yeah, I'm one Hordie she won over :D

Myra rocks, I cackled in glee when she dangled that dude :-)
Gracandrea May 8th 2011 8:40AM
Rhea. http://www.wowhead.com/npc=46654
Seriously loved Badlands now after they redid it. But Rhea was a special heartbreaking quest.
I loved first how a dragonkin was not disguising herself as some uber sexy elf but as a goblin. (Alexstraza show some dignity PLEASE) And I loved what she was doing, trying so hard to redeem the black dragonflight.
And the ending? I cried. Really. I won't spoil it but if you haven't done the badlands area DO IT
Ozzard May 8th 2011 8:43AM
This. I'm keeping the last quest reward.
Deathknighty May 8th 2011 8:48AM
I know, I loved that too. 8)
Gendou May 8th 2011 9:05AM
Same here. That was a tragic quest-chain, and the [REDACTED] will stay in my bank forever.
