"As far as insane demands go, this one pretty much takes the cake for me. Has anyone heard of anything worse than this? If so, tell us about it below!"
Yes.
I have two challenges in WoW... first being that I can only raid on weekends (working out of town Monday through Thursday) so it's tough for me to find a guild that actually has a team of folks who even want to. Second is my server is on Pacific Time, while I live in Central Time, so I'm two hours ahead of everyone else.
So I finally found a guild that had a dedicated group, led by a raid leader who was... quarrelsome. Nice enough guy, but it became apparent very quickly that he was (to put it charitably) loot-obsessed. Loot-obsessed to the point that he would "pull rank" if he lost a roll on a piece of loot he wanted and demand that it be given to him. On the few occassions when it wasn't, he would log immediately and we'd have to call the raid - a raid with later than average times (again, because he worked odd hours and insisted the raid work around his schedule).
Once he got his tier shoulders and full epics from the raids we ran, he promptly quit the guild and joined another guild on the server that was a little further on in progression. So basically, he used the guild as a stepping stone to get geared up for a "better" guild, stepping on others along the way.
Needless to say, I left the guild soon after, but the damage was done. I don't typically trust others in this game anymore.

Aww, don't let the bad experience get you down! He was probably raising red flags with you from the get go but you stuck it out because it fit your situation the best you could find. I'm sure you'll find something that fits =). I would suggest my guild (raids Friday/Saturday evenings), but I suspect you'd have to transfer servers haha.

SO many red flags on that situation, I would've stopped raiding with him after pulling rank and trying to steal loot (steal as in he lost the roll for it) the first time. Someone like that is not a good player, but an even worse leader.
Sorry to hear you went through that.
Thankfully my guild is nothing like this when it comes to loot at all.

Agreed, and just to be clear, I wasn't blind to the problems with the situation. But consider for a moment just how hard it is to find a competent group of people that actually WANT to raid on the weekends. Typically, I group with alt raids that go 2/6 in BWD and 1/4 in BoT and call it a night.
It was the cost of doing business.
