Setting aside the rest of the awfulness of that story, there's no excuse, ever, for a Mage to get caught in Sindragosa's blast. Even unglyphed Blink got me out of there well ahead of anyone else. The few times I was turned the wrong way and Blinked out to the other side (oops!), well, that's a textbook case for Ice Block.

Now, as to the rest: What a horrible, horrible person.
