I've found that the not as skilled players know who they are and generally dont mind being benched because they dont want to hold everyone back. The ones we have are happy to sit out for progression and get brought in on bosses that we have on farm that our core group doesnt need loot from. They get gear, get to see the encounters, probably wont cause a wipe and have to feel guilty about it, and the better players get a bit of a break and get to log on an hour or so later than normal once we get back to progression.
If youve got 12-13 players for a 10 man who are all equally good and are on time and ready to go every raid night, well it sucks sitting out hoping someones internet will go out, or even worse, seeing gear that you needed drop on the night youre subbed out.
