Patch 4.2: Druid tier 12 revealed, new tier armor information and models

First, most tier 12 sets have their names associated with them. Here's the rundown of the sets we have names for:
- Death knight Elementium Deathplate
- Druid Obsidium Arborweave
- Hunter Flamewalker (should have been Flamewalkerstalker IMO)
- Paladin Immolation
- Rogue Dark Phoenix
- Warrior of the Molten Giant
Finally, Wowhead also has awesome 3-D models of the new molten giant, king pain in the butt from the old Molten Core, back for sweet revenge. The new, higher poly count models look great and give me hope for soon-to-be updated models that Blizzard could throw some art polish on. New molten giants, welcome to the club.
The news is already rolling out for the upcoming WoW Patch 4.2! Preview the new Firelands raid, marvel at the new legendary staff, and get the inside scoop on new quest hubs -- plus new Tier 12 armor!Filed under: Cataclysm

WTB shammy tier preview :(
JBluntz May 10th 2011 5:39PM
Geez, still no shaman love? C'mon blizz!
Revynn May 10th 2011 7:51PM
Keep in mind that this isn't an official Blizzard preview like the first batch was. These are datamined models. We'll probably see another preview from Blizz showcasing Warlock, Shaman, Druid and Warrior gear all at once.
JBluntz May 11th 2011 12:44AM
I understand that this is datamined; merely commenting on the fact that shammy sets aren't even in the game files to be mined, much less in an official preview... Sad panda is sad.

I have only one comment.
WTF is that!
ben41042 May 11th 2011 11:39AM
I thought the same thing.

Is this supposed to make up for druids not having perma-Tree of Life anymore? By giving them a tree costume?
Might as well give them that tree cutout that's part of the DK starting quests.

Well i wont be displaying that helm on my Tauren. Here's to hoping the shoulders are epic looking.
Ves May 10th 2011 5:49PM
The mask looks OK. It's got a nifty sort of Troll-ish vibe.
The collar is hideous though. You used to be able to count on the fact that even if every other helm fit terribly on Tauren, at least the Druid Tier piece would be OK.
Snuzzle May 10th 2011 10:23PM
Really? It feels like a nice mix of Tauren and Night Elf to me.
Personally I love it. It feels like a more epic version of the Nordrassil set, which is rather fitting, actually. I hope the shoulders balance out the helm, though, because without any shoulders the models wearing the armor look decidedly top-heacy and off balance. :)
Deathknighty May 10th 2011 5:54PM
Oh, the bovinity!!!
Deathknighty May 10th 2011 5:55PM
In case there's any ambiguity as to what I mean, look at the helm on, say, a human, and then a tauren, and you'll see what I mean. :P
Kaphik May 10th 2011 5:59PM
I dunno, I kinda feel like hanging my laundry on that mask.
Minaith May 10th 2011 5:59PM
Man I am sad, that is just ugly :(
Fletcher May 10th 2011 6:14PM
That is an awesome looking tier set. And it'll even look good with rogue offset pieces!
BRB, rolling a druid. :D
Eric.stephens84 May 10th 2011 6:20PM
I was hoping the fire theme would take over Druid t12 so we could have a decent set appearance for once but once again I'm let down. Thankfully I'm feral so I can ignore it while raiding.
eli laury May 10th 2011 6:22PM
lock tier 12 better be the most epic tier of all time after all this waiting
Chad May 10th 2011 6:24PM
I like the druid helm, it is very fashion forward.

"Finally, Wowhead also has awesome 3d models of the new molten giant, king pain in the butt from the old Molten Core, back for sweet revenge."
Do you suppose the mobs in Molten Core will continue to use the old model, or will they end up updating to reflect the new version?
