Patch 4.2: Thrall's quest sound files reveal major spoilers

Major spoilers ahead. You have been warned.
Thrall's dialogue reveals that pieces of him have broken apart and that his spirit is only held together by tenuous bonds. His voice is ethereal and angry, potentially that piece of him that fuels his anger and doubt, worried that Garrosh will ruin the Horde and that King Varian deserves true orcish war once more at the gates of Stormwind.
We also learn that Thrall asks Aggra to be his lifemate, which immediately brought to mind the Jay and Silent Bob hetero-lifemate connection. Thrall, buddy, you can conjure elements to do your bidding, but you just can't summon the element of love.
Hearing Thrall rage at Garrosh and threaten Varian with unmitigated destruction in the streets of Stormwind was definitely a treat, but it will probably just be "angry Thrall piece" that is part of his fear and doubt. What a shame.
The news is already rolling out for the upcoming WoW Patch 4.2! Preview the new Firelands raid, marvel at the new legendary staff, and get the inside scoop on new quest hubs -- plus new Tier 12 armor!

OH NO DEATHWING TOOK OVER THRALL'S BODY
Oh wait. That's still Thrall.
Jezi May 10th 2011 4:41PM
So that's Thrall's angry core. We rescued his adventure core in Old Hillsbrad. So what's next, Fact Core or Space Core?
Iirdan May 10th 2011 5:06PM
NETHER. I'M IN THE NETHER.
What's your favorite part about the Twisting Nether? Mine is the Nether.
Grovinofdarkhour May 10th 2011 5:25PM
Heh heh heh... heh heh... heh heh heh...
he said "nether".
Robert May 10th 2011 5:36PM
"Dad, I'm in the nether!" "I'm proud of you son" "Are you the nether?" "Yes, now we are a family again"

Intriguing. I'm looking forward to this quest-chain more and more.
Samutz May 10th 2011 4:42PM
I hope this is something I can go see without raiding.
Iirdan May 10th 2011 5:19PM
It is! The official preview described it as a solo quest chain.
Amaxe May 10th 2011 6:03PM
Great. Am I correct in assuming this is not Horde only?
Jason May 10th 2011 4:54PM
Angry Thrall is pretty angry.
DragonFireKai May 10th 2011 9:15PM
I find it humorous that Thrall rages that someone who enslaves another deserves worse than death, and then rages at Wrynn for seeking justice against the horde for more obscene sins, including Wrynn's own enslavement at the hands of a senior statesman of the Horde. It's the same hypocrisy that Thrall's been spouting since WC3.
Artificial May 10th 2011 9:52PM
@DragonFireKai: You have a pretty bizarre notion of justice if you think it involves slaughtering people *other than* the ones responsible for the crime, just because they happen to be of the same race/have the same color skin/come from the same village/etc.
Of course, that kind of notion is par for the course in both WoW and real life human history. It's bizarre, though, to call it "justice" and accuse someone of hypocrisy for not agreeing with it.

"You won't like me when I'm angry"...."THRALL IS ANGRRRYYYYYYY!!!!!"...."THRALL SMASH!"
lethian Jun 26th 2011 10:13AM
@DragonFireKai:
Im thinking that prolly is his fear and doubt, it shows hes "human". its why i like Varian as much as Thrall, and Garrosh. these 3 show more emotion and logic, Garrosh less so but on occasion, than many npc's ive seen. Thrall has tried to promote peace many times but its kind of ignorant to think he does not feel this way deep down, just as Varian has every right to feel that way. In wow as in real life its the way we deal with these "demons" that is what should matter not how we feel.
Sergel May 10th 2011 4:57PM
Who voices Thrall BTW?
Samutz May 10th 2011 4:57PM
Chris Metzen.
loreaddict May 10th 2011 5:22PM
Along with 2/3 of the Major characters.
I get it, I would do the same if I could, but it gets a bit grating when you hear Nefarian talking about shamanism, or Thrall about killing raiders.
Noyou May 10th 2011 7:22PM
Did Metzen do Thralls voice in Old Hills? It seems different. I need to go run that (one of my fav instances btw and I play alliance 99% of the time) again now. Metzen is talented no doubt but there is little difference between his Thrall voice and many others which is just plain confusing to someone with a decent ear. Just my 2 cents. I'm a less is more type of guy I guess.
