I was watching Game of Thrones Sunday night, and all the sudden I saw Hodor. I turned to my fiancée and said, "Hodor! We talked to him on WoW Insider!" She just looked at me and went "What's a Hodor?"
Then I realized I'm marrying someone who hasn't read Game of Thrones.
I am now on a new mission -- a quest, if you will. GoT she shall read; it is so.
Also, Fat Tom doesn't say "coward," he says "craven." I am le disappointed, HBO ...
Irin asked:
Who is Anthony Ray stark? He has a headstone tended by a drawf named Rousch in the very southeastern tip of the Hillsbrad Foothills just beyond Dun Garok. He is no one in lore since on the headstone it simply reads 'Anthony Ray Stark 1961 - 2005'. What is the story behind this little easter egg?
According to Wowpedia, he's a friend of a developer who passed away and has an in-game memorial built for him.
Vehx asked:
Once you've reached your weekly limit for conquest points, can you still trade in valor points to push past the cap?
Nope, the conquest point cap is a hard cap based on the amount you earn, not the amount you've earned and kept.
Sinthar asked:
Isn't WSG the first BG you can get into at low level? Or have the changed that (I dont PVP much - or at all really if i can help it)?
Warsong Gulch is available, as well as Arathi Basin, at level 10. Blizzard added AB a while ago.
Hawk asked:
The only way to get "free" fast flying is What A Long, Strane Trip achievement. What if you already purchased it? Can you get a refund of your money?
That's the only way that I know of. You might also be able to get it via getting an arena-awarded flying mount, but I'm not sure if that gives it to you now or not.
Blizzard won't refund your gold if you already have max flying.
Jishdefish asked:
Heroic Gnomeregan. Would defeating Thermaplug at 85 get us some momentum on that front?
While I have no special knowledge of the subject, I wouldn't at all be surprised at this point to see heroic Gnomer. Makes a lot of sense, given Blizzard's recent penchant for old instances.

I know that giving an option to mount up in these instances will buffer my nightmares : /

Oh lord, Heroic Gnomer. That would be an epic pain.

Dear writers of the Queue:
What game(s) are you looking forward to this year?
PS: Deus Ex: Human Revolution looks pretty sick.

About once every 20 minutes I let out a deep sigh knowing that it will be, as of this posting in central time zone, another 184 days 11 hours and 51 minutes until I get to play skyrim.

@Starsmore
Mr. Reynolds has apparently changed his name to Turd Ferguson.
Yeah, that's right. Turd Ferguson. It's a funny name.

Q for the Q:
The other day I saw a goblin wearing some neat plate shoulders. When I went to inspect him to see what they were, the name (which I have since forgotten) was in heirloom gold. I've got every PvE and PvP heirloom that came out up through the end of Wrath, but I didn't recognize this one. What was it?
Wolfshanze May 10th 2011 11:16AM
Most assuredly it's the new tanking plate Heirloom gear (Shoulders, Helm, Chest, Cloak & Sword) that was added in 4.1
tenacious_paul May 10th 2011 11:17AM
They added new tank heirlooms to the game with 4.1, and I believe that included shoulders and chest (for 1-80) as well as a cloak and helm (up to 85).
loop_not_defined May 10th 2011 11:17AM
Level 80 tanking heirlooms were just added with the last patch (I think), so I'm guessing it's those.
Jason May 10th 2011 11:18AM
You probably mean the Burnished Paudrons of Might (http://www.wowhead.com/item=69890). They were added along with a helm and breastplate in 4.1 to give plate tanks some heirloom gear with actual tank stats instead of tanking in DPS plate.
Shinae May 10th 2011 11:20AM
Check your local heirloom vendor. Plate shoulders (and a helmet) with tanking stats were added in 4.1. They look all spiky and ridiculous on my belf chick.
Necromann May 10th 2011 2:00PM
That's cool. My warrior has been decked out in heirlooms for ~30 lvls now. I probably wont get them though, because to switch between prot and fury all I need to do is change the off hand.

What's the relationship between "Druids of the Pack" and Shaman, who are able to shapeshift into wolf form?
Pumabackup May 10th 2011 11:29AM
the difference is that druids of the pack would channel the essence of the ancient Goldrinn, and take on his form. it was the power of the scythe of elune that later twisted the form into what we now see as worgen. shaman on the other hand, are not so much shape-shifting, as moving themselves half into the elemental spirit plane, where they take on the form of a spirit wolf, which has great significance to a shaman. (not really sure why that is lore-wise, but i would assume it has its roots in the native american culture, and their shaman's reverence of wolves.)
