The Daily Quest: Rags to riches
WoW Insider's on a Daily Quest to bring you interesting, informative, and entertaining WoW-related links from around the blogosphere.
Despite my commenting about the myth-mangling wonder of Disney's Hercules in our last installment, I did actually like the movie, you know. The way they stylized the art in the film around art depicted on Grecian urns was pretty cool, and the characters were entertaining as far as that goes. Plus it had a killer soundtrack.
In WoW, you don't have to make any herculean efforts to make some extra gold for your character -- and there are an astonishing number of blogs out there on the fine arts of goldmaking, as pointed out to me by our very own Basil Berntsen. Let's take a look at a few more merchandising opportunities, shall we?

I just took a look at the Death Knight tank and Rogue T12 bonus, as well as Blizzard's change in set bonus design on my blog, Stack Shields: http://stackshields.wordpress.com/2011/05/11/when-did-all-this-get-here/ (slightly NSFW language if you work with the Amish)

Hm. This makes it seem like Chaos Orbs are still the crafting mat of choice, at least according to the PTR. I wonder if that will change.

But why would they use Grecian urns and art to depict the story of a Roman demigod?
They should have called the movie "Heracles" and everything would have made so much more sense. I don't care how many people would have been confused.

Sad thing is, I saw the card and my first thought was, "Those are Roman numerals, not Greek."
And yes, it would be Heracles. Of course it's also Odysseus, not Ulysses. Unfortunately America tends to confuse the Greek and the Roman.

OF course it's also strange than an ancient Grecian credit card would use Roman numerals and not grecian ones. But hey, its all ye olde stuffe anyway
