WoW Fashionista: Creating that "super" summer look

With Thor already in theaters and several more costume-heavy blockbusters like Captain America and Green Lantern on the way, you can bet your Val'anyr that the superhero look is in. Better start dusting off those classic capes in the bank and hope to Elune you didn't shard that Netherblade Facemask.
To create our featured look, you'll need the following.
- Head Don Carlos' Famous Hat; a knock-off Haliscan Brimmed Hat would also work.
- Chest Watcher's Tunic.
- Back Abjurer's Cloak.
- Waist Brantwood Sash.
- Hands Aurora Gloves.
- Feet Cushy Cenarion Walkers.
Our male model Alphonse is also wearing an optional pair of limited edition Treetop Leggings to complete his ensemble. He is pictured holding Cookie's Tenderizer.
If you can't match our outfit perfectly, you can still put together "a lot of look" by combining various pieces of gear in bright, contrasting colors. Color is the key to any superhero outfit; you don't want go too dark, or you'll end up looking like some sort of wannabe Ravenholdt assassin. Leave the leather pants in the bank.
Other key accessories are a fashion-forward cape and gloves. Be sure your gloves are a style with big, exaggerated gauntlets, so people don't confuse your look with some unfortunate level 63 mage who's still questing in Outland.
A unique mask, helmet, or hair accessory is a must for defining your heroic identity. A Red Defias Mask or Bloodwoven Mask are obvious choices for hiding your face, but be creative. A cute pair of engineer's goggles is definitely not too much.
Here's an example of an outfit created by one of our readers. Looking fabulous, Sasha!
- Head Shadoweave Mask
- Chest Soulcloth Vest
- Back Aurora Cloak
- Waist Brantwood Sash
- Hands Gloves of the Hypnotic Flame
- Feet Calico Shoes
- Legs Black Mageweave Leggings

Got your own look for summer planned? You better work!

I know that mixing fictional universes is generally a no-no and something reserved for the worst of fan-fiction, but if someone can get together a working Darth Vader outfit, I'd be forced to award you with +500 Internetz.

Drakkenfyre, you are my favorite person of the day. That video was five kinds of win.
+650 Internetz.
That looked like the mail Gladiator's set from BRD.

If you want to see the full video, it's probably linked to that video.
The people doing it, however, stopped at 1 episode, which is a shame, because it's really funny.

Netherblade set is still great looking. Tier four was a good season all round really.

WTB More articles like this!! A closet RP-er stuck on a non-RP realm....fancy outfits make my day. I carry three with me at all times: my archeology digging outfit, and two fancy dresses for dates with my husband's rugged character.

The link for the gloves is the same as the one for the shoes : http://www.wowhead.com/item=18808

WoW Fashionista - I love it!
Fashion runs and fashion rolls on loot (after genuine need obviously!) are one of the reasons I love my guild so so much. I can see a huge interest, amongst the well dressed, in this being a regular feature.
Shinae May 12th 2011 11:07AM
My guild's loot rules allow for rolls on RP gear (if a drop isn't an up-/side-grade for anyone).

We so need this to be a regular column. My main has so many dress up sets that they're running out of bag/bank space to hold them all in!
Aside from just cool armor sets, they've got a work/fishing set, a casual set, and a fancy noble set. Would love to have a regular column where we closet World of Fashioncrafters could trade sets. =)
Shinae May 12th 2011 11:10AM
Yay, awesome article! Outland has some of the best gear for looks/RP.
*hugs my Watcher's Tunic*
