Other pet collecting achievements have also been given rewards. Both Petting Zoo and Menagerie, the achievements for collecting 100 and 125 companion pets respectively, will grant the player pet biscuits. We have no idea how many uses these pet biscuits have, but it appears they will work the same as the WoW TCG's Papa Hummel's Old Fashioned Pet Biscuits.
Go forth and collect, companion pet enthusiasts. Nuts will be waiting for you in patch 4.2.

100% agree, though I'm guessing they considered it and found that it was trademarked or something. Otherwise its a total missed opportunity to reference the original 150 pokemon, hell make the squirrel yellow and shoot lightning too (yes I know Pikachu is a mouse).

I keep seeing mentions of the new achievements, which is great, but I have yet to see any mention of any new pets except the squirrel awarded for the achievement. I hope they're adding a few more pets, too. I currently have 148 pets, NONE of which required external purchase (cash store or trading card game), and there is currently only one pet let I am able to get in-game: the bloodsail's hyacinth macaw. And, some of the pets I have are no longer obtainable, so people with characters less than a few years old would not be able to get even that many.
So, when I decide to shell out 15-20k for the macaw on the AH, or to destroy my bloodsail rep to farm it, the best I can get is 149 pets. I really hope they put some more in; I don't care if they make them easy to obtain or a painfully long grind.

I think the new hyjal quest line will give new pets (hyjal bear cub?), so I wouldn't worry about that. :)

I'm with you! I just adopted my 150th pet yesterday, none of which were bought at the Blizz store, except for the Core hound. Blizz did add a truckload of new pets of late, but 150 is indeed a huge number, and shows your dedication as a pet collector, since a good portion of those come from horde / alliance only, seasonnal events, hours of farming and / or gold spending. Obviously you can also chose the easy way and just spend cash at the online store ...
I'm happy with the magic biscuits as a reward, although I hope it's some kind of "on use with a CD" thing instead of a consumable. I also hope Nuts does carry a little nut in his grubby furry little paws ^^

It'd be nice if they're actually "perma biscuits", that aren't consumed on use. Say, with a four hour cooldown for 100, and a two hour cooldown for 125.

Any word on whether the rewards for these achievements will be rewarded retroactively? I just hit 100 pets a few days ago and if I had known about these rewards I would have waited to "learn" my last couple.

I would think it would just count how many pets you currently have; as it's not something that needs to be 'tracked' as you get them, it will (probably) be rewarded retrospectively.

Sweet sassy molassy, I though my collection was good, but I only have ~120 pets. 150? I can't even imagine the grinding I'd have to do to get that many.
