This video was actually released back in October. Wakagana created the video while Silver Letomi and Wick are responsible for the song. While we're obviously nowhere near the season now, Hallow's End (Is Calling) is absolutely worth an off-season watch.
This is an amazing video with a gorgeous song. It's a haunting, subtly occult-sounding song with a driving, building beat. The contrast of Letomi's gentle, high-pitched singing against the rhythmic progression is compelling, and the controlled use of crescendo lends the music an epic feel.
Overall, this whole piece is incredibly well done. My hat's off to these folks. Interested in the wide world of machinima? We have new movies every weekday here on WoW Moviewatch! Have suggestions for machinima we ought to feature? Toss us an email at moviewatch@wowinsider.com.
Anybody familiar with the Weird Al song "You don't love me anymore"? It's one of those tracks that has a "hidden" piece - 10 minutes of absolute silence, followed by a cacophony of drums, wailing guitars and Weird Al screaming his head off like he's getting limbs chopped off.
...
Guess what was playing in my media player and decided to reach that bit just in the middle of when I watched this video? XD
Years ago we used to listen to music on these contraptions called records. This song uses a filter to mimic sound from an old scratched record to great effect (usually considered haunting or creepy) when offset with her unfiltered singing.
Anon is exactly right. The verses got a record filter to give the feel of a lullaby being played off an old record with the chorus given a little echo instead. I'm sorry that it gave you the impression of bad recording quality!!
Thank you so much for featuring this song and video. It's easily one of my favorites of all the work I've done.
Loved the end and the song, but it was a bit frustrating in that the video seemed to have completely random images, most of which you couldn't even make out because of the blurs/effects.
I liked the music. The words were haunting but could only make out one line. Maybe if the vocals were placed over the music so you could here them? Anyway I liked it just wish I could have heard what was being said. Subtitles would have probably worked best.

One of my favorite collabs with two of my favorite parody artists. All three of you did a great job!

Well ... I'm glad some people like the singing, because I'm not overly impressed. Oh well, something for everyone!

@RetPallyJil Post on a site, don't be surprised if someone remembers you. That's hardly "stalking."

The lyrics are kinda hard to make out.

I usually like Letomi's singing, but this sounds pretty awful. Is the poor sound quality deliberate, or was this actually recorded over the phone?
