Left-handed Razer Naga in the works?

Razer has offered up a left-handed version of its Deathadder mouse, but MMO players have been without a left-handed option ever since the Naga released. As many people in the community (including myself) would tell you, the Naga is a powerful tool, much like the other MMO-centric mice out there.
So why talk about this? It looks like Razer is entertaining the thought of creating a left-handed version of its popular MMO mouse. On its Facebook page, CEO Min-Liang Tan posted a faux propaganda poster and description soliciting comments from left-handed raiders to make this happen.
The biggest downside to gaming mice is that they are not very good at being universally acceptable products for both righties and lefties. Inclusion is essential, and good tools for gaming are important, especially to WoW players. Let's hope this happens.

I'm a lefty and I use a symmetrical mouse. I'd definitely look to getting a razer naga for the left hand!

As a lefty who tries to keep left handed products within reach (scissors, pens, etc) I am super excited about this for all lefties everywhere, if it comes out. I have been using a right mouse for all gaming because I have to. I did find that the zboard helps though due to all the gaming keys being on the left ( it's easier to use my main hand to do all my button mashing). This would be nice though for the times I am sitting around fishing or doing Arch, and holding my current Deathadder in my left hand and just winging it.
Long post... a bit off point...sorry ^.^
Anywho, yay new mouse!

Why do lefties need special mice? They seem to be able to drive cars and use scissors designed for right handed people.
Zalvi24 May 19th 2011 7:15PM
lol no we cant use scissors its a pain, i feel like a handicap when i use it and i cant ever cut a straight line even if its already marked
MusedMoose May 19th 2011 7:22PM
Do you have an asymmetrical mouse - one that's clearly designed for right-handed people? Try using it with your left hand. In about three seconds, you'll probably understand. ^_^

Use a pair of left-handed scissors as a righty and have fun with that. Both my mom and my brother are left handed, and in my house I am the minority ;P
Skyshard May 19th 2011 11:05PM
I am not sure what a car has to do with anything... I use my left hand to do most of my driving. :)
Also, I agree that it is a pain to use right handed scissors, knives too, I can never cut a veggie straight. ~.~
I got a pair of left handed scissors, and some lefty pens a few years ago, and they are amazing, and so natural and easy to use. Also, it is really funny to watch my husband get frustrated when he used the left handed scissors. Now he knows how I feel. ^.^

im a lefty and i dont have any problem using the reg razor naga at all, or any other mouse for that matter, idk maybe i got use to it since i was young but if i try one it might feel weird
Xtofer May 20th 2011 12:32PM
I agree. I'm a lefty, but I've grown accustomed to using a regular mouse and I wasn't even really aware that lefties have a hard time with mice.
I guess I do more with my left hand, since I use a gamer pad for all of my hotkeys and the mouse to just move my toon, so I don't have much experience in using a gaming mouse, but still, I think that if I used the current naga I probably wouldn't have a problem with it.
All that said, give me a pair of right handed scissors and duck. Now, those things just don't make sense to me.

Add me to the crowd of left-handed folk who did not realize we needed a special kind of mouse to game. I think it would actually be harder to rewire my brain to use a left-handed mouse, nowadays.

I don't get it.. I'm a lefty and I use a normal mouse/trackball with no problem.. the only item i prefer to have catered to being a lefty is a can opener... oh and at Skyshard.. left handed pens? how are they different?
MusedMoose May 19th 2011 7:25PM
I'm left-handed and use a right-handed mouse, but not all of us are comfortable using the mouse with our non-dominant hand. If the comments on this page are any indication, a left-handed Naga mouse would be a boon to more than a few people.
As for pens, a lot of we left-handers tend to drag our hands over what we've just written as we write, and if the ink doesn't dry quickly, it can smear and/or get on the sides of our fingers. I've ended up with black, blue, and/or graphite marks on my hand all my life. I'm pretty sure left-handed pens just have quick-drying ink.

I used to have a left-handed fountain pen. Nibs tend to work better when they're dragged rather than pushed, so the left-handed one had a nib that curved slightly to the left. I guess there could also be a left-handed biro that somehow worked better when pushed.
I have no idea why scissors don't work when I use them in my left hand, but it's true - they don't.

bth, I'm leftie and have just been using a right handed mouse for like, ever. Can't do leftie mice.
I feel that I am better off pressing keybinds and such better, than using a mouse designed for lefties.
But well, not my decision.
p.s. - leftie scissors are awesome

I have these, but there are a few different types. You hold the pen normally, and it puts the point out so A) You don't drag over it with your hand (yay hand smears), B) You can see what you're writing as you write it, as opposed to it being hidden under your hand, and C) like stated above it causes you to pull the tip more then push it.
I love it, and it is funny watching others try it for the first time, especially righties. :P

I'm a lefty and I have a lot of trouble using left handed mice. The first time I even knew such a thing existed was almost 5 years after I started using computers and by then I had the muscle memory built up in my right hand. I not a very big fan of mice in general, though, and I do the majority of my computing with my laptop's touchpad. I'm sure some psychologist in my future will tell me I was traumatized from being forced to use my off-hand for so long.
Ragen May 19th 2011 7:30PM
As a leftie myself, I have no issues with using my right hand to control my mouse. I've been trained from a very early age to use my right hand for a mouse, and using my left hand gets some weird results (like hitting the right mouse button thinking it was a left click).
I'm glad though that they are thinking of us. =P

I've got a lefty razer Death Adder. The extra two buttons are very useful since I'm a full-time healer (Holy and Disc), but I believe that this is a terrible idea. I think a mouse like the Naga is a niche product, and having one for left-handed players is going even further.
Memzer May 20th 2011 1:05AM
As somebody with the mouse it's actually pretty good. That said really only 6 of the 12 buttons on the side of the mouse are really usable. Going from the first row to the last row is slow / inaccurate; and the last (or closest row to you) requires positioning your thumb at an uncomfortable angle.
Would love them to redo a version of the death adder with 4 or 6 side buttons max and with the buttons being positioned further away from your palm.
