Patch 4.2 PTR: Nozdormu's mortal form, new Sulfuras revealed

In addition to the Nozdormu mortal form, Wowhead News also has models of the new Raven Lord "on fire" version, a more complete version of Majordomo Fandral Staghelm's Druids of the Flame, some 3-D renders of the new "overfiend" enemy from the Firelands (who looks like a baby version of Baleroc), and a human spread out like Bolvar chained up above the Lich King before Tirion bought him that cool new hat.
Another interesting tidbit from this PTR update is the updated model of Sulfuras, which now has nicer textures and more polygons but still retains a healthy bit of the cool factor the original Sulfuras did. One thing is definitely for sure -- Blizzard wanted to make the new Sulfuras very reminiscent of the old Sulfuras but updated, keeping the weapon's heart and soul. To me, the new Sulfuras is a good metaphor for Cataclysm itself.

The news is already rolling out for the upcoming WoW Patch 4.2! Preview the new Firelands raid, marvel at the new legendary staff, and get the inside scoop on new quest hubs -- plus new Tier 12 armor!Filed under: Cataclysm

He looks a lot like Medivh... (not that I'm complaining, mind you)

The first thing that came to my mind: "Nozdormu looks badass."
Ez May 19th 2011 10:47PM
I was thinking Tony "Baloney" Iomi!

Looks like a satyr without horns

My first thought was 'Oh my god, Norzdramu looks HOT!"

He reminds me of "evil Federation" Spock from the ST TOS Episode "Mirror, Mirror."
Zanaji May 20th 2011 12:34PM
He does look like mirror Spock. And mirror Spock was super-hot :)

"finally has a moral form in preparation" you need a "t" in there. :D
Nozdormu looks like he wants to do Kung Fu on a variety of equally extravagant enemies in a fighting game.
Sulfuras looks awesomesauce, I am sad for I shall never possess it.
Starsmore May 19th 2011 7:28PM
He reminds me of the bad guy from Big Trouble in Little China.

Starsmore - Now that you point it out, the resemblance between Nozdormu and Lo Pan is scary. Now, all he needs are some creepy martial arts minions.
devilsei May 19th 2011 9:39PM
Well Gwen, if the Infinite rumors are true, he already does have creepy minions who possibly know martial arts! I mean that one guy could move so fast that time slows down, that's martial artsy!

Don't be fooled by the skin color, that's actually based on a Night Elf model and skeleton/animations.
Revynn May 19th 2011 7:54PM
The ears are very Blood Elf.
Not that I'm arguing one way or the other, just saying it's not just skin color that looks Belf.
Vaeku May 19th 2011 8:09PM
This. The model is a modified male night elf model. They basically took the night elf model, changed night elf ears to high elf ears, and then put on a unique high elf-based skin.
I was thinking that maybe it's a "frozen in time" evolution of night elves to high elves.

WTB NE guy makeover for ALL of them. Especially mine.
Touphemia May 19th 2011 7:30PM
Wow. Another winner in a long series of fantastic unique models, Blizz. Nozdormu blew me away.
I keep thinking this is what the Night Elf Male model could look like, with a bit more purple and a few more polygons.

Spikes on his back? Did he drink demon blood?
Ecko1985 May 19th 2011 7:31PM
Why in the hell can't they allow our characters to have that neard style...Or for that matter Medivh's
