riding your wolf or raptor would be close to the in-game mounts :)) but riding a giant worm would look hilarious
also, stampene being our version of army of the dead would be marvellous :D as long as the pets do collectively the right amount of dmg and areonly able to apply certain buffs/debuffs, don't see why blizz wouldn't allow all 25 to just rush in for 15-20 seconds :)) to balance it out, maybe the hunter would not be able to do much else in case the dmg needs to be consistent

I think the only way it could possibly work is if all the pets you summoned were normalized. They could still be YOUR pets, but there wouldn't be damage differences between say a bear and a wolf.

This could be fun. Using it in Stormwind/Orgrimmar would sure tick off people using npcscan, though.

it could be normalised like the dk's army of undead, just import the models from the pets in the stables. To have a change, they could deal less dmg than the ghouls, but be able to apply certain buffs/debuffs ( depending if u have the right pets in the stable). This would be a nice boost in heroics and would not make much of a change in raids since you should already have most buffs/debuffs up.
certain pet abilities such as ancient hysteria would not be included ofc. Also, since it's just a case of ghould with different models, they would not screw up things like npcscan.
