Im not totally agree, as DPS the dmg meter works fine, they tell us if we are doing low dps, also its a good "challenge" to improve our dps even if we are the number 1 on the chart, if we can do more dmg whitout make mistakes in the battle mechanics that will help a lot in any fight whitout question. Also help to find the best spect for a specific encounter.The meters are always a good presure tool to improve our perfomance.

Great post - I think that's definitely a valid point. They provide a little bit of extra incentive to get better, especially on things you have on farm. When we first did Magmaw, we wiped for like 2 nights. Now, we have it down so cold that we bet each other who can pull the best DPS. While this isn't *exactly* the best way to use a damage meter, it gives us a little extra challenge now that the fight is trivial.
