SwagDog discontinuing Blizzard licensed products June 1

SwagDog has been a Blizzard licensee for over three years, creating player- and guild-specific T-shirts, apparel, jerseys, and hats. We do not know the reasoning behind the licensing change; we'll provide updates as we get more information. For now, if you want anything from SwagDog's World of Warcraft line, get it before midnight on Tuesday, May 31.

Blizzared went with an internal spinoff for their TCG line. My theory is that it was profitable enough of a move to try it out on apparel, too.

Well, that will teach me not to reload the page to check comments before I post.

I don't expect there was much demand for those products anyway. Who's so attached to one character and/or guild that they're willing to spend $25 plus shipping to wait a month to get a t-shirt to commemorate them?
And who's going to wear them outside the confines of a GameStop, if at all?

me *_*

Are you ashamed of playing wow or something? XD
I've lead the same guild for nearly 8 years, have many members who were there for the founding, and are quite fond of my characters. I also proudly fly my geek flag... So I guess that would be "us" and "us".
Also I am very sorry that all of your guilds have failed to be more than meaningles things to you. That is a horrible shame.

Me too! I have a hat and shirt. Both are very high quality products and look pretty cool. Hopefully Blizzard has a plan to continue delivering this type of merchandise from another source.
/salute SwagDog!

Yup, me too. Just ordered the guild logo tee. I think it's a shame that they won't continue :-/

I have a guild banner T-shirt that I've worn several times -- at Blizzcon, a local SF con, and when meeting with guildies.
To be treated with care since I won't be able to replace it.

I have had a fond attachment for guilds in the past. That being said, I can't imagine wearing WoW apparel with confidence. I'm not a closet nerd, mind you, most of my friends are aware of my love for Warcraft and the fantasy genre in general as it relates to gaming or otherwise. I think there are probably a lot of other WoW players like myself.

I've been wanting to buy a couple guild hats to hand out to guildies I know, but they haven't had our logo, so it's kindof a non-starter for me

I wear my guild beanie when I'm out and about (i.e. nothing that has to do with work). Despite the Horde symbol on the back, no one's ever gone "Oh cool, you play WoW!" even when the other people around me are wearing WoW shirts (I actually had someone ask me if I played while wearing it ;P ). I get complements on the symbol on the front, but it's not a geek magnet.

I'd LOVE to get a shirt with my guild on it, AND my main's name. I wear my J!NX For the Horde shirt out a lot, and I'm a forty-plus mother of three with silver hair. :P
Cadychan May 20th 2011 3:34PM
I own....*counts* nearly ten WoW shirts from JiNX. Not only do their womens' shirts fit like a glove, they're fun, comfy, and yes, I proudly wave my geek flag around. There was always a spot for these; I can only assume that someone else is taking over the license.

Add me to the list. I want the hockey jersey so bad I can taste it!
jfofla May 20th 2011 3:51PM
I am 52 years old, one of the most respected editors in Hollywood, and I wear my Horde Hockey Jersey to work.

@Ktok
how can you lead a guild for 8 years when we are still 6 months shy of the 7th anniversary?
Very impressive!
artifex May 20th 2011 11:06PM
I'd love to get one with my favorite vanity guild name on it, but I just don't think I can pull off "chicks with picks" in public.
(Or wearing the shirt)

/cry This make me really sad :( They do great products. First order was a Pullover Hoodie with my first ever character's name and guild on it. I won one of those swagdog contests here on wow insider around Christmas time last year and order a Guild Hat and a Horde T-Shirt with my guild name and character on the back and also a zip up hoddie with my guild and character name on the back. I just about wear the T-Shirt everyday it's so comfortable. I guess I'm just going to have to order some more stuff before they close the line. Maybe another T-Shirt that Hockey Jersery and a Hawaiian Shirt.

Odds on Cryptozoic having a new product line July 1?
emberdione May 20th 2011 12:57PM
I was always bothered by the fact you couldn't customize the way you wanted. For example:
I am a warlock. I don't want my shirt to say human - warlock, I just want it to say Warlock. Why can't I leave the human part off? And then, on my character shirt, I can't get it to say warlock! All it does is show the little logo!
J!nx's stuff is better anyway.
