Actually, with 948dps, it is probably BiS for 2H melee users. Sure you lose some Strength/Agility (druids), but it is still about 250dps more than the 372 weapons.
I assume they are going to nerf the weapon dps sometime soon. Because it definitely isn't itemized as a caster weapon.
