Honestly, I think the problem is people don't really -want- the game to be back where it was. Because right now, the main game principles aren't largely different from those from back then. That is what bothers people, it's the same grind over and over, no matter how they try to dress it up. Why people didn't mind that back then was because it was all still new and there was lots to explore and learn about the game.It's easy to say that they have to do something drastically different - but the MMO concept, to me, seems very restraining in that aspect.
