Well thusfar my impression of Cataclysm has been a mixed bag. I had 6 level 80 toons at the end of the last xpac and with as fast and furious as you could gear up hell I had 2-3 of them that could actually contribute to an ICC team and it took little to no work to make it that way.
Then enters Cataclysm and they overtune everything and make it really hard out of the gate. So when I hit 85 I also sort of hit that wall of, really I have to run 10+ dungeons to get the number of Justice Points I need to get 1 upgrade thats blue?
Now that my guild is level 25 and I have the cloaks and hats to get from 80-85 is a breeze and I really don't see with as bad and linear as the content from 80-85 is why they needed to make everything hit so hard and take so long to kill. Seems to just be a way to impede your progression through 5 levels which was too little new content.
So the best way I see to get value from Cataclysm is to not have had very many high level toons when it hit shelves and have had a few character slots empty that you could use to play with ALL the old world content that they did.
I appreciate the fact that they improved dramatically the 1-58 game but I have really yet to fully enjoy it because my little mage has 18 levels to go until outland..
