That kind of defeats the purpose of a tabard.... You could always just not wear a tabard.

I mean, by definition, a tabard really does in game what a tabard has always done in real life - make you a walking billboard advertising a faction's or guild's prowess. To turn it off would be to turn off championing a cause... which is taking it off... so...
