The Daily Quest: Pro raiding
WoW Insider's on a Daily Quest to bring you interesting, informative, and entertaining WoW-related links from around the blogosphere.
I love Valiona and Theralion on heroic mode. While everyone else runs around screaming, my rogue buddies and I get to run around willy-nilly in the Twilight Realm, dodging bullets and randomly smacking around dragons. I don't really know how the rest of the raid feels about it, but I'm guessing from the instructions and play-by-play our raid leader calls out, it's much safer where I happen to be. Much, much safer. Like Kargath.

I find this definition of hardcore vs casual to be good.
Casuals plan game time around their life, Hardcores plan their life around game time.

o.o Holy crap, I never expected to see my blog end up here!
Anne Stickney May 23rd 2011 4:03PM
I'm sneaky like that.
Tomaj May 23rd 2011 4:07PM
Well, I certainly appreciate it. Thank you. :)

Thank you Anne, is nice to see one of our videos around the net =)

My 25 man raid is midway through Heroic content, and frankly I miss the days of farming normal mode.
Diatenium May 23rd 2011 4:44PM
We do 10 man H V/T and I haaate it. Hate it, hate it, HATE IT.
I have to go into both of our twilight runs (Since I'm a pally and I can bubble off the damage increase debuff). And having to dodge all the crap in there while trying to heal DPS who somehow after all this time STILL manage to plant their face in the orbs.
And the portals, screw those portals, they always spawn the furthest they can possibly be away from me, in like the deepest corner of who-knows-where. One time I was just about to go through a portal when it disappeared, then had to weave my way to the opposite side, avoiding dazzling destructions left and right, finally reach the portal, immediately get a meteor, and end up dieing a tick's hair away from the melee stack, HAAAATE.

This video is just weird when I actually watch it, how the heck is that rogue able to stay in there so long with what appears to be no healer? I can see he's cloaking off the debuff but it's surprising to see him survive in there for as long as he did, even after taking a couple orbs to the face.

Awww, Heroic V/T is my favorite fight of the whole tier! Their fight is a beautiful shifting dance with no surprises or ambiguity of where you should be standing or what you should be doing (I'm looking at you, Heroic Omnotron and Conclave of the Wind).
Anne Stickney May 23rd 2011 5:25PM
Here's how you stay in there as a rogue:
#1: Spec Subtlety
#2: Keep Recuperate and Feint up at all times
#3: Cloak at ~25 stacks or so
#4: ???
#5: Profit
It is...stupid easy.
kimerats May 23rd 2011 5:50PM
Ok I'm the Rogue in the video, and and is just as Anne just mentioned, we can stay on the twilight realm forever if we want, as you can see I only left to finish the boss, the puny damage or the Twilight realm just tickles.
The raid leader don't even need to worry about sending other dps to the Twilight, we have 3 Rogues and that is all we need for the job, since we can just stay there and kill stuff, we leave when the boss is around 20%, finish them, profit.

Kim i loved the ss Goku energy bar meter and your HuD range indicator, what addons did you use?
kimerats May 23rd 2011 8:49PM
Thank you Ulubai, not many people notice the work on the UI =)
The HuD range is build in Bigwigs boss mods you can download that from cursegaming. About the Triforce combo points, the Zelda hearths life and the Goku energy bar well I'm sorry but here is no actual mod for those, I made them using KGpanels, I had to create my own textures for that, and writhe the scripts.
Sorry

I also did a little post on raiding, but it pertains more to the time commitment required to *actually* raid Heroic mode content successfully.

Corath May 24th 2011 11:27PM
I miss raiding. Since my wife got her job, I've gone only a handful of times... hopefully I'll be able to raid again come 4.2.
Newest post up at Corath's Blog (http://corath.wordpress.com) is a bit of an expansion on my previous post which was so kindly linked last time. I kind of wish I had this post up instead of that one, but we can't change that now!
