I really don't think fear of diminishing paid server transfers has anything to do with why they they are thinking of making this a premium service. I imagine the vast majority of people who pay to transfer do so to actually join a guild or raid team, not to run a daily heroic here and there.Why charge then? Because they can, and people will pay it. It targets people who want to play with a buddy occasionally, but don't want to leave their actual guild or raid team.It's selling to multiple segments of the market, just like Upper Deck did by selling real cards as well as knock-offs. Although with that example it wasn't exactly legal. :)
