You definitely can't use rupture in a heroic unless the other DPS are really, really terrible. If everyones on thier game things should be dieing very, very quickly. You can use it on bosses for sure, but not on trash. You gotta go all WotLK on it and either FoK or do a SnD> Envenom > Envenom > etc.Nother big thing that can help us in a heroic are dead combo points. Use those! Switch them onto another mob with Redirect, or use them to keep up your SnD between pulls. And a lot of times you get "the hesitant tank" who seems to eye each group incredulously for a good 20s before finally going in. In this case you want to use the dead cbps right before they'll expire to get the most uptime to ensure you'll have enough time to refresh it on the next pull. Just from observation they last for about ten seconds before they disappear so try to refresh around the 8 second mark.Also...my "rotation" for FoK is Garrote > Rupture (yes, with only one combo point as a typical aoe trash pull isn't going to last much longer than that) > Spam of Knives. WIth those bleeds up you'll be flush with energy. I've been able to hit the button 15 times in a row on every GCD doing that. This is also another great example of using dead combo points. If you have a lot of dead combo points laying around quickly switch them to a mob in the next pull (preferably one with lots of health). then open with Garrote on that mob and then immediately rupture then switch off that mob. You don't want him to die too quickly, he's your energy generator (although he probably will because he's loaded up with bleeds, but you don't want him dieing any faster is my point). So anyways...those are my tips.

Great advice on using "dead" combo points. I like to transfer them over to another mob, but I also use them for a recuperate. Even when youre careful, you tend to take quite some dmg as a melee dps, so I like to make the healers job easier by trying to avoid taking dmg if I can, by interrupting as much as I can, and also by using recuperate. Sure, you could use the points for other stuff, but when there is a rough spot and the healer has to focus on other members of the party, I tend to use recuperate, rogues draught or bandages to stay alive and take some of the load from the healers shoulders
