The Queue: Firelands questing and more

I was going to yell at Adam for making me wade through Game of Thrones spoilers in the comments of yesterday's Queue, but the first book has been out for what, 15 years now? Frankly, I have nobody to blame but myself at this point.
Many readers asked:
How far into Hyjal questing do I need to be to unlock the ability to do the new daily quest hubs in patch 4.2?
You need to have quested up to the point where Aessina, through you, douses the Inferno and it becomes the Regrowth. If the center of your Hyjal map is all green instead of on fire, you're good to go. If you haven't been in contact with Aessina yet and the center of the map is still covered in fire and corehounds, you should get back to questing.
Honestly, I don't know why they bothered making that a requirement. Everything you saved just gets torched again.
Hal asked:
Why is there a Night Elf priest acting as caretaker to Uther's tomb? I wasn't aware the Silver Hand (or its successors) were that close to the followers of Elune.
I've always been under the impression that the caretaker at Uther's Tomb was supposed to be a high elf or a Highborne priest who worshipped the Light. Why he has a night elf model, I have no idea. Maybe he's a convert? The Light, as a faith, doesn't have any racial borders. For example, the troll from the Ashbringer comic, Zabra Hexx, worshipped the Light.
horchc80 asked:
Curious, with the valor converting to justice and the new raid tier, will the old raids still give valor points?
No. Valor points will be used to purchase tier 12, so tier 11 raids will not give you the currency required to buy tier 12.
Shinae asked:
I've never been on the PTR before, but I may have some time this weekend. Would I be able to communicate with my RealID friends while they're on live realms and I'm on the PTR?
No. The PTR is isolated from live realms, so you cannot communicate between the two realm types.
eleyond asked:
Since hunters don't use mana as a resource anymore, why do they still arcane shot. Wouldn't. I think that ability would be changed as well maybe a flame arrow or something. Just food for thought.
A wizard did it.
No, really! The hunters took some of their ammo to a local wizard and had it enchanted for special occasions.

Anyone have any idea what Blizzcon tickets will go for on Ebay should I not be able to buy them tonight?
MattKrotzer May 25th 2011 11:11AM
Allow me to look into my crystal ball...
Seriously though... I'd expect to pay at least double if buying them on ebay. Possibly more.
BrentJackson May 25th 2011 11:12AM
Your soul. And your pet.
In all seriousness.. I would expect a markup of at least 300-500%.
Task May 25th 2011 11:14AM
I'm going to ballpark it and guess maybe $300 and up if you can find it for that price. Plus the flight and hotel, pending you can find 1, you'll be looking at a lot of money being spent.
More power to you if you still want to go.
I'm going to go the safe route and just watch it on streaming tv.
Amaxe May 25th 2011 11:14AM
I thought they wouldn't honor scalped tickets to begin with. Did I miss something there?
llcjay2003 May 25th 2011 11:26AM
My next question would be, is it worth it? I talked to a friend who went to Blizzcon last year and he said that it was cool but the event itself was poorly organized. He stated that the best part was hanging out with guildies IRL, which could have been done somewhere else.
llcjay2003 May 25th 2011 11:36AM
@Amaxe: Eww...Is that actually true? I guess it might make sense because people would make more money from the tickets than Blizzard would. Perhaps the June 10 (I think that is the date) for name submission for the tickets is a way around this? Plus I think I read somewhere that you could change the registered names at the event as well.
Task May 25th 2011 11:37AM
@llcjay
Honestly, if you had a group coming along, then yes but if you are going there solo, not worth it.
Your money could be better spent watching the stream online and or saving up for next year, but that's my tin hat opinion.
Amaxe May 25th 2011 11:42AM
Ah, I didn't know the deadline to submit names was June 10th. I had thought it was at time of purchase.
I guess I have been misinformed on this. Feel free to ignore my previous comment if this is so.
biggjudicem May 25th 2011 1:17PM
Forgive me if I'm wrong, but isn't it illegal to sell tickets or something similar with a listed price for more than that listed price?
Scott Clark May 25th 2011 1:43PM
@Amaxe
Your comment can stand! While there may be a grace period for getting the names on the tickets confirmed, changing the names at the event requires you to have access to the credit card used to purchase the tickets. This would allow to, for instance, give up your ticket to someone you trust but will leave scalpers (or, realistically, those who buy scalped tickets) out of luck.
Halimain May 26th 2011 2:48AM
@biggjudicem
Scalping laws depend on the state the scalper is in.
For instance, in Texas, scalping, or ticket reselling, by it's more pc name, is totally legal, and unregulated beyond normal fraud laws.
Enderwig May 25th 2011 11:07AM
Actually, tier 11 Heroic raids will still give valor points.
According to this post: http://us.battle.net/wow/en/forum/topic/2580698481?page=2#24

Which was quite a surprise to see this morning.
I suppose it makes some sense. The heroic T11 encounters drop iLevel 372 gear and tier 12 normal drops iLevel 378 gear, so they should theoretically be close to eachother in difficulty (sans 20% nerf, at least, which makes me wonder if heroic will be excluded from these adjustments).
If this goes through this way, it'll be nice to be able to work on Firelands and H-T11 for my valor points instead of feeling the need to run my troll dungeons each week. :P
Shuckles May 25th 2011 11:26AM
I think it's important to note here, for those not willing to click the link, that T11 *normal* raids will give Justice Points whereas T11 *heroic* raids will award Valor still.
I'm curious as to whether there will be a point reduction for heroic encounters in any case.
Shuckles May 25th 2011 11:27AM
@(cutaia): Normals will be the only ones affected by the nerfs.
Durenas May 25th 2011 12:53PM
Also the 20% nerfs only apply to normal modes. Heroic modes are as yet unnerfed.
jishdefish May 25th 2011 11:09AM
This 'wizard' must be quite busy. Arcane shot making sounds like a profitable business. I wonder if I can invest somewhere.
thegatherer May 25th 2011 11:12AM
In Rolemaster, a table-top RPG, one of the talents you could get was "weaponsmaster", where if you get good enough with your weapons, you could use them to channel arcane power. That's what is is for hunters, they are just so good, they can channel some arcane power without using mana.
Kinda like rogues and their "minor mysticism."
hillbillyrod May 25th 2011 11:10AM
The arcane answer is a dumb as having arcane shot. Why didn't we just get him to enchant all the bullets. I have the money. and know alot of enchanters. So all my shots should be arcane.
Just more backward make no sense lore.
